I have a 2013 DCSB that I lifted back in June. Initially I had some driveline vibes (felt in the floor and pedals mostly, and heard as a "humming" sound) but later removed the CB drop that was installed and they seemed to go away completely. This lasted about a month or so until I went in the mountains and tried to climb a hill in 2 wheel drive. Got near the top and traction control kicked in as I attempted to get back on the flat spot . I hit the brakes, put it in 4-wheel, and made it without issue.

Ever since, I've been experiencing some pretty bad vibes again (same as the initial ones). I tried to re-install the CB drop but that didn't help. Any ideas why they would suddenly return after something as minor as that? I'm thinking I need to take measurements and order shims, just don't understand why they returned the way they did. Could it be wheel alignment/balancing? Any help/advice is appreciated.

Is it a pulsing hum vibration or a constant hum vibration?

Seems to pulse more than its constant.

Probably your front diff bearing. Toyota has a TSB on it. Mine did the same when I lifted it and pulsed at around 45mph. Had the TSB new bearing installed and it went away. Some people use another option maybe a sleeve bearing to reduce the vibration.

Check your wheels for dried mud and rocks. You could simply be off balance due to accumulated debris.

Or you might have thrown a wheel weight on the climb.

I was expecting an answer more like this based on how it happened, but could easily be a bearing. Plan on starting with a roration and balance since it's free. Maybe an alignment as well since I'm still working that out post lift. Definitely need to read the above thread as well. Thanks guys.

The only reason I would say bearing is because of the pulsing. Start with the balancing and work back through the drive train.

Thanks RedRed. Sounds exactly like my problem. Is it really as simple as printing out the TSB and taking it to my local dealership? Never had to do anything like this before.

As long as you can replicate the issue for the technician then there should be no problem getting the TSB performed. I left my truck overnight at the dealership because it happened worse when cold. I had the TSB with me when I rode with the tech the next day. He observed the pulsing vibration and then ordered the new TSB bearing. My truck is lifted 2" and I had no issue with the dealer. All fixed for free and pulsing vibration went away. It's been 20k since TSB. Hope this helps.

How did that feel for you? Kind of a low frequency groan/vibration felt through the floor that pulsed at a repeatable interval while driving 45 and faster in 2wd?

yeah OP I just came back from the stealership today and they couldn't replicate the issue on my truck either I printed the TSB out to show them as well. if u need to know which one it is , its TSB 0026-15. it made the sound when I went to the dealer, but they couldn't hear it. so it was noted at 19800 miles and I was worried it will get worse, so since its noted they will still warrenty it if it comes back again but the sound you have does it make a whomp noise after a rotation?? cause that's what mines did at 40 mph after letting the gas off, and when its on 5th gear (auto by the way) it sounds like a growling sound as well if that's the issue probably the what all the other members are saying. I did tire roatation too and thought would be it but it wasn't either. GL at the dealer

This exactly. Seemed to be worse during the first few miles of driving before fluid heated up. That's why I left it over night at dealership.

FYI mine became worse and pulsing was amplified when I lifted the truck. Bilsteins at 1.75.
