Did it loose oil pressure? What made you aware you were low on oil? Noises?

I know it's not what you want to hear, but normally a knocking noise at high rpm is a loose rod bearing. If you are lucky, perhaps you only damaged the valve train and could try adjusting the valves.

    Good luck.

can you describe the sound better than a "slight tap"?
engine knock is a bad thing....

Also, for future reference OP, don't title threads with "HELP!". "HELP!" could be anything from a member stuck alone in a desert somewhere to a member being scared that theres a angry albino gorilla under his/her bed (and it specifically states in the thread creation tool not to title threads "help!")

"Low oil leads to slight engine knock; Ideas?" or the likes, next time

if you have oil pressure, run it until the problem either gets worse, or goes away. If it gets worse(probly), then you will be more able to figure out what you need to do.
If you have little or no oil pressure, thats all she wrote.
