My truck started shaking while on high speeds, about 60 mph, the only thing that makes it stop is by applying the brake, then it rides smoothly and can continue at higher speeds. Has anyone had this issue or can guide me as to what it can be? I've had the same tires for about 4 years and recently balanced tires thinking that was it, but it continues to do the same thing.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
did you rotate the wheels/tires? Put the fronts on the back and see what happens. Is the wear even on all the tires? If you were in our region I would guess ice or snow build up. Broken cord from hitting pot hole. thrown wheel weight but you said you balance them.

you mentioned the brakes help. Make sure everything is ok there too. Maybe a pad is damaged.

Get tires balanced, it will go away then.
