First gen Tacoma owner here. I’m contemplating getting some helper springs along with the AAL that I will be putting for 2” of lift.

biggest reason is due to the camper shell and the job site box full of tools that I will be taking around to work daily. Has anyone put helper springs on along WITH an AAL? Is this even possible before I purchase them?

I’m trying to preserve the leafs as long possible and prevent sagging. Thanks for any comments in advance!

If you want 2" of lift get a new leaf spring pack. Assuming its the 01, the springs are 20 YO. Time to replace them.

Get a 3 leaf progressive add-a-leaf, install it on top of your overload leaf. It'll give you 2+ of lift and will carry the weight better than a single leaf. Or spend a little more and buy new leaf springs.

Yea that’s a good option. Found an icon kit for $214. I may do that instead. Trying to avoid getting new leafs all together for a little while. Definitely an option. Thanks
