I need to up my payload and was wondering what opinions everyone had. Should I just put hellwig helper springs or go with the Chevy 63s
The reason I want to get more payload is, I haul a 4 wheel camper all summer and pull a 5x8 enclosed trailer with my bikes in it. I don’t do any extreme wheeling so I don’t really need the flex. My concern with the helper springs is if they are too harsh.
I also do not drive my truck in the winter very much, because i primarily use the truck for camping and going to trials events. So the time it takes to do 63s isn’t really a concern. 445381B9-0FB6-48DD-97A9-19D056DADE8E.jpg

63s are way too much work and unnecessary for what you need. Just get the firestone helper air bags. When you are unloaded air them down when loaded air them up. Easy peasy.

Might want to consider airbags: both cheaper and more adjustible than 63s.
I have 5 leaf (2200 lb) 63s and they handle like a dream on my heavy 2015, but were decidedly stiff without anything in the bed. If you want to go from the config you show to unloaded with conventional springs, you won't be happy in both weightings.
