Been looking for tires for awhile. I drive mostly highway and everyone says to get the Michelin Defender Ltx m/s. I am sure that they are great tires but I was wanting something that looked more bad ass. Saw the Terra Trac II's and liked them. I got a quote for 575.00 for 4 mounted and balanced out the door. Thinking of pulling the trigger. Michelins are about 200 dollars more.

My buddy sells Hurcules tires at his shop and he's trying to drive me away from the Falken wildpeak ATW3 to buy the AT2. Anyone have experience with both?

I used to sell Hercules. Always was a good tire for my customers. Do they still offer the road hazard warranty? Tough to beat a free road hazard from the manufacturer.

A lot of reports on the ATW3 are that they are wearing incredibly fast. There is a thread on them around here.

My current tires are the stock Dunlops 245/75/16's. I put most of my mileage on the truck from driving on the highway to work and back. I occasionally tow a small 16 ft boat, maybe 10 times a year. Should I go with the normal load range or the "C" load range? Cannot wait to get rid of these Dunlops. Also, the Terra Trac comes with OWL. In or out......I am pushing 60 so back in my day we had the white letters out, but it seems most guys don't do it anymore.

Stick with the P's. They're rated higher than C anyway.

I'm 41. White letter out for the win.

I did look to answer my own question. Hercules still offers the road hazard warranty. Hard to beat.

It's a 2 year road hazard warranty is what my buddy told me. I've read a lot of reviews on the Falkens and I never saw anything about them wearing fast. I can believe it though since all of them say they are the quietest all terrain out there. Softer rubber=faster wear.

P's are softer for a better ride and with a light load like a boat P's would work. For the white letters it depends on the color of the truck for me. I'm 27 but I love a black truck with white out. Up to the owners preferences though. Be your own and do which one you like.

Biggest difference between the Falken Wildpeak and the Hercules Terra Trac would be country of manufacture. Last check the Hercules are still US made.

Just found another place that is offering 4 Terra Trac AT2's, P load range for $574.00 plus lifetime rotations. Going to get them in a couple weeks....can't wait. Still cannot make up my mind about the in or out....I guess I will decide that when I actually see the tire!

I looked at both and I am running the falkens. Bought in end of January but no real miles yet. The guy I got them from was selling both and said they were having "problems with the falkens". I love the tires but have read about quick wear.
