Herculined my tailgate!

Well i herculined my tailgate today, i dont think its to bad looking i kinda like it, it looks way better then it did i had backed into a tree and a bunch of branches just ruined the paint so this was the fix i came up with, next is herculiner on the chrome bumper then ill finally be chrome free! Tell me what yall think

 

Better than plastidipping it I guess.

 

Looks ok, will prevent it from being stolen also.

 

yea, i mean i had to do something it looked horrible before i shouldve taken a before pic for comparison

 

Should have lined the handle area too, since it gets scratched up

 

yea i figured id tape it off to leave some color and if i didnt like it after a while i could just go ahead and paint it

 

I think it looks bad but to each their own.

 

I wonder if anyone has Herculined their entire Truck.. Then you would never have to worry about buffing another scratch or popping out a door ding

 

^yea but i think it stains with mud so it would stay dirty, then again if you herculined the whole thing you probly wouldnt care about dirty lol. im not to worried about the looks, the rest of my truck makes up for it plus im eventually gonna put a tire gate there

 

I did the inside of my Jeep, good stuff, but it will eventually fade some.....
you may want to try some kind of UV protectant over the Herculiner

I'm not really diggin it either. But to each their own, if you like it that's all that counts. I think if you painted around the handle it would probably look a little nicer, kinda looks unfinished.

 

yea i mean i cant say i love it its just better then how it looked damaged and its just temporary

 

it's been done before plenty. i've seen two lifted ones. here's the only picture i could find.

Can you paint over the herculine to match the rest of the truck?

 

they have colored bedliner. i wouldn't bet on a colomatch though.

 

I like it. I even like the red handle well.

 

little weird for me, but perhaps the handle part like everyone said if lined would be better
