    Not to mention driving tons of supplies into a crippled area during/directly after the event is DANGEROUS to the responders. #1 rule of disaster response is do not become and emergency yourself.
    Is there more that can be done- Yes. And lets not forget that the gov't isn't here to do everything for us- The folks who have lost in this flood have a responsibility to have insurance and plans in place. It's not like this is the first time this has ever happened.

    My heart goes out to the folks in the affected areas. There is a very real chance I'll be doing some SAR up that way in the not too distant future.
