It's just interesting to me why no one has been able to not get that cut off perfect in the middle? Is there a reason?

Do you mean the step looking like one step and not divided into two or the step actually being centered in front of the truck?

Just went back out for more pics. Don't think it gets much better than this one. While driving it is in the center of my lane centered on my Tacoma. It looks off centered because I am shooting the pic from the left side of the truck.

I have my step aligned as best I can in the center as well. As far as seeing one step, that happens from roughly 70 feet and further out if that makes sense. I tend to tinker with it though.......so it changes every now and then. :)

Hey that retro looks fantastic! Looks very familiar. ;) I'm really like the BHLM on the silver body. Glad everything worked out well.

I did want to comment on something mentioned earlier in the thread about using an adhesive to bond the projector to the reflector. While the bolts and reflector may be sturdy enough to support the weight of the projector, the reflector was not designed to support a load as the reflectors are very brittle. Uneven road surfaces combined with cyclic thermal loading introduce many stresses that would potentially damage the reflector over a period of time. I think that it is a good practice to secure the projector to the reflector with an adhesive to help spread the load over a larger area, ultimately reducing the potential for a failure and extending the life of the project.

It really is better to have 2 visual steps no matter what the distance is. Factory hids are aimed with 2 steps. You get more width that way. The general distance is 2-3 feet apart at 30ft or so. Here's what mine looks like.

i love the look, but it would bother me with having the driverside off a little, but that is me, how much do you have invested in this mod?

Whenever you are ready. No rush, got it boxed up.

Driverside off? It is supposed to be stepped like that. $370 for the kit, few buck for paint and glues, $120 for another set of headlight (will BHLM them and resell soon), and $80 for a Dremel (needed one anyways). After I resell the lights somewhere in the upper $400s because I needed a Dremel.

Nice, thanks Ross! I was wondering what a good reference point would be as far as the spacing between the two steps. I think I'm pretty close at this point. I'll have to check tonight.

Spacing should be pretty darn close to the distance between the headlights.
