It's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. The end.

Ya could've edited that post a bit. :bananadance:Sheesh, who's got time to read all that!? I mean, we didn't need all those details. In about 3 months I'll give y'all a concise, condensed version of my own! In 9 months, I've put about 2400 miles on my Sport. Flat wearing that truck out, I am.

It's really just a joke in response to a similar thread posted in the 3rd Gen section by a guy who doesn't like his truck. Hopefully you are enjoying yours so far!

I know, I read that one, too. I'm enjoying mine, just not enough. I have a work vehicle that I drive all week long, but retiring at the end of '17, that should put more load on the Taco!

1.55 years with mine, at 49K miles. Love it, can't help but look at the 3rd gens, but seemingly to many random problems.

I don't like the look or power train of the 3rd gens, I waited to test drive one before I bought mine, still decided on the 2015.

I have had my 2015 for 3.5 months now. It's great. I drove 2 2016/2017's before this truck and did not like them at all.
Under powered, anemic. Toyota messed those up and they were new.

I am in the same boat. I own a 1st gen, and in the end of 2017 I want a change. It will be a 2015 or 2018, but I hate the look of the 3rd gen

I'm having a hard time warming up to mine honestly. It vibes more than anything ive driven. Engine vibes that's reverberate through the whole truck. Everything rattles and clunks. Had to fix a terrible oil leak. Gets not that great of gas mileage. Not much power. Rides rough as heck, even rougher than my lowered chevy short wide thats Lowered with shorter stiffer springs and lower profile tires. Couple speakers seem blown. Noisey engine, Spongey brakes. etc etc

Something funny about these trucks is that people either love them or hate them. I never see someone say yeah it is an average small pickup.

its a love hate for me right now. ive been driving my old chevy this week. I need the truck for just being a more useful truck than my other one. And ive always liked the looks of the Tacoma, Ever since Back to the future. haha. But, I'm just havin a hard time with it right now. The vibes kinda got me quite irritated right now. But I do have wheels on order. Maybe I just need to do more to it to make me like it.

I've had my '14 now for 2.5 years, and only have a little over 5k miles on her, because like alpha2, I have a company truck that I drive most of the time. The problem is, since I love it so much & I put so few miles on her, I won't need to buy a new truck for decades!! :)

It has been mentioned that the resale values of the 2nd gens has actually increased since the 3rd gen came out. Looking at some used ones on craigslist and dealer's lots, I believe it too. I have seen a handful of used gen 2's, with similar and fewer options, going for more than what I paid for mine brand new. I am glad I bought mine when I did.

Love my 2014. No problems on it. Love the gearing on it. I am glad I upgraded to the 2014 trd dblcb from my single cab 2012 4x4.dont get me wrong the single cab was great. But this trd is awesome. We will be together for a long time.

I work from home so mine lives in the garage. I paid 31k for mine and I've seen similar going for much higher recently. Mine is exactly how I wanted it, last year of the second generation, Off Road DCSB 4x4 with the 6 speed so I plan to keep it for a long time. My biggest fear is that if it somehow got totaled I would not be able to find another one.

This past April I was actually offered a little bit more for trade in from the same dealer tham what bought it for in April of last year. Spoke with the GM last month when we got my wife's highlander and he jokingly said he doesn't want my truck cause they wouldn't make anything on it after trade.
