I would think that with all the same parts being used the problems would exist in every truck. This is not the case. Can anyone account for the varied experience within statistical norms? I understand that all vehicles may have some issues, but the number of "issues" here makes it look like 70's reliability is a goal to strive for. How did a factory build every single defect into one truck?

best to get rid of the Toyota and get a different truck, if it doesn't satisfy you

That's a great question. I would guess while there are legitimate issues most are expectations and perceptions. I would venture to guess that you could take some of the consistent complainers and stick them in any other vehicle and they will find something wrong with it. Being in a forum, you will get polarizing opinions but this is just a small sample of actual Taco owners out there. Many probably go about their lives trouble free in their Tacos.

Yes sir. One guy busted his rear diff on the beach IIRC. Another member was a female and she had hers completely blow up on the road driving to work one morning. There was an entire thread here documenting her issues and it went on for weeks. Edit here it is https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...leaking-diff-was-few-things-i-noticed.436360/

27k on my M/T 16. It's been a fabulous truck, and I've done quite a lot of off-road adventures in it. It's been a champ with very few minor issues (occasionally squeaky springs and squeaky clutch that was remedied with some lithium grease).

According to this, 2nd gens are the slowest and 3rd gens are the fastest, but the video showed different. I'm not trying to bash the 3rd Gen, maybe it was the driver, but the video showed a 1st Gen beat it by a little and a 2nd Gen by a truck length.

I work for a corporation of some 100k employees and I know that they are because I'm part of it. We spend millions on it too.

Do you care to guess how much money can be made by monitoring the market via social media and responding with a product?

Even though we make and launch rockets where I work, this isn't exactly rocket science.

I don't wish to argue this point, but to assert that corporations are so out of touch that they would completely ignore this business opportunity is absurd.

    Just saying.

they can monitor all that want, doesn't mean you got to shit fest on every little non sense issue that comes to your mind on this site, go start a self help group for 3rd GEN unhappiness somewhere, most satisfied owners don't want to hear nonsense about vibrating gas pedals or your discontent about everything, aren't you the same dude that says your getting a Chevy? WTF you waiting for go get it

I hope you're just ignorant and this isn't something more serious.

I'm being genuine when I say that.

Really? This is my 5th Toyota truck and it's been the best performer of the bunch. 10 months of ownership and almost 14k miles on it. Had the initial TSB done to correct the R-D delay but otherwise no problems at all.
