Is it a sign that I've been lurking too long when Satoshi grills were the first thing I thought seeing those front end pics? :D

I personally don't think the flashy (trashy?) chrome grill looks good on that color truck, but I like the color by itself. If I still lived in Vegas or had long term plans to do so I'd probably prefer that color actually.

Not a surprise. Desert Sand Mica was voted the ugliest color for 2nd gens on TW. This looks to be even worse.

The grille is a little too Lil Wayne for me, other than that I like it. I can see a huge after market for custom grilles for the new gen.

I'll trade my grille for a Limiteds grille when I buy my Sport.

A horizontal slat grille like those used on armored vehicles, painted body color, could work:

Toyota probably decided on this color based on the SEMA truck that got a lot of attention.

The flat tan is far better than the sand mica which like any light metallic brown is more preferred by older people. Shows less dirt and they don't have to wash it as much. It is kinda boring to have the same damn colors all the time. I've been wanting a tan tacoma for a long time but it would be a tough choice with white when I do get a new truck.

what throws it for me is the chrome grill paired with the plastic fender flares.

I should prolly buy stock in plasti derp for all the guys that will buy it to spray over the grill.

the cab section looks identical to my '10. The snout looks silly to me.

All that matters at this point to me is the performance/economy of the new 6. Everything else looks like window dressing.

So, for now, an emphatic "meh".

    Thanks for the pics though!

I agree....everything about Gen 3 is mehhhh and there is no real excitement. Think toyota really needs to hit a home run with this new 3.5 motor to make this next gen a success.

I like it, but why would they put such a chrome/blingy grill on the Off-Road Model?? A clean/simple aftermarket grill should really improve the looks....

The first thing I'm doing when I get my 2016, is designing a new grill. That is a little too much bling, the guys at work will never let me get away with that.

The Tacoma marketing folks at Toyota were sleeping when this was being designed. Looks like a mini-Tundra. Glad I got my '14 when I did. Maybe they will fix them after a few years in declining sales....

Any other 2016 Tacomas shown besides the three we have seen already?

I disagree that it looks like a mini-Tundra and wish it looked more like a Tundra than this truck we see here. I'm good with my 2010 for the foreseeable future.

I was looking at a new Tundra today and the similarities were fairly strong. The tailgate lines and the taillights look similar.
