I had a Sienna loaner and it drove far better than the Tacoma. Wait, I also had a highlander and Rolla and they both drove better too.

The way I see it now is i'll just drive the loaner until my truck is fixed, then i'll sell it. If I get less $$, then so be it. Nothing I can do about it.

The car I want and (luckily didn't put a deposit on) will likely be sold to the next lucky caller, but there's aways more cars to be found.

Yeah, at first, i'm more than a little miffed, but i've calmed down a bit.

It's funny you say this. A few weeks back I was looking to trade my Tundra in for a '17 Tacoma. They low balled me on my trade because I didn't have a recall fixed. The recall was for extra grease added to the driver side window. I looked at the salesman and said "You're a Toyota dealership, Toyota Corp pays you to fix it no cost to your dealership".....his response, "It's still unsafe and I can't sell it". I'm surprised to hear something similar happened to you.

Here's some fun reading (I already posted it a while back in another thread) but, you may find some of the codes or similar apply depending on your state.

Additionally, Toyota IS paying the dealers money for the inventory they can't move. Fun stuff.

Oh man... I'd be pretty annoyed by that. I'm thinking this is my last foray into Toyota land for awhile.

Well needless to say the next day I brought it in for the recall to be fixed and sold it private party a few days later for a few thousand more. Though I didn't get a '17 I got a great deal on a '15. Hope your situation ends as well as mine did.

Personally, and I hope you understand. I'd rather not publicly bad mouth a dealer that has my truck in their possession right now.

I'd hate to get my truck back and notice a phantom smell.

It's all my fault friends. If I had not bought a new 2017 there would be no problems! You have heard of the Midas touch well I have the Exlax touch and have cursed all 16 and 17 Tacomas. Forgive me

No doubt. They said they had interested parties already. Could be BS though.

Funny thing they said my diff only had minor weeping in 2 spots, not really a big deal.

I bet the Toyota lawyers are spending more time on this problem than the engineers.
