Hey guys. I recently developed a slight hernia in the right side of my groin / abdomen. I have seen two doctors regarding this both have said “do not get surgery”.

Does anyone have advice on this? I have family / friends / co workers telling me to get surgery. Yet two doctors are against it .. definitely have a pain / constant discomfort in my side ... bulge too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated .. I am also in canada so out health care is super slow. But free ...

Why do your doctors say they do not feel your are a surgical canidate?

I wouldn’t care what your co-workers who don’t have MDs have to say about it.

Surgery comes with a lot of risks, especially if you have any significant co-morbidities like high BMI, diabetes, heart diease etc.

    Is the hernia bothering you?

Do as the Chanook backyard engineer AVE (on YouTube) says and just have your wife hold it in when you need to lift.

In all seriousness though I can't be of much help but if two doctors say surgery is a bad idea then I'd take their advice over us Joes here...
