Anyone have some feedback on Hertz product? Specifically speakers? Im considering some front 6x9s to match the rears. A European manufacturer but little information or reviews available. Eventually I will have a 4 way amp hooked up but for the moment Im just upgrading stock speakers.

There is a local store here (Visions) that is always blowing Hertz stuff out the door....

    Thinking of these:

    http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/car-audio-coaxial-energy-ecx690_5/

    On sale for $100.

Hertz is a phenomenal speaker company - better known for some of their high end gear.

You may be happier with a set of component speakers as well. Does the local store have any you can listen to?

Good to hear . The little bit I did find online said the same but they were from small time audio sites and seemed sponsered driven reviews.

Yeah maybe ill go into the store tonight amd see if they have them on display.

Ive had my eye on them (components) but they never drop or go on sale.

    Unknow
    Many
i have access to a rather wide range of companies.
From SQ to LOUD.I have a set of mercury K62's that will knock the socks off almost anything 2-3x their price and is located still in calgary. Also matching amps mids and mono. They have won many EMMA awards as well.

Now none of my options is gonna be $100

Where is a frickin ladder of qaulity for these speakers lol. They just show all the different series but don't differentiate between them.

What are some of your best reviewed speakers? How much do the K62s go for?

Cant say of the top of my head, the Mille is there top of the line. The Hi-Energy is mid to high tier stuff, I had that 6.5" component (around $600) in my last truck, loved it!

i run hertz mille in an active setup. 2 pairs of ml1650.3 and 2 pairs of ml280.3, sounds very good to me, and i run some decent power to it. on the other truck i have focal 165 k2p , also running active.
let me tell you, passive sounded good, but once that switch to active, its another level.

If your not sure then you need to hear for yourself some high end speakers ( which what your looking at isn’t considered ). It’s one thing to listen to what people recommend and read reviews vs hearing for yourself the difference between a good system vs great system or passive vs active. What sounds good to you might not be for the next person and that’s ok.

Does this have any relation to the rental car company?

Also, my uncle bought a 1971 VW Bus that came with an aftermarket JVC cassette deck and one Optimus speaker (It had two at one time but one was missing). I did some research and found out that Optimus is (or was) a Radio Shack brand (kinda like Tandy computers). Even with only one speaker, and my iPod playing through a car kit adapter, I thought the system sounded pretty good. However, we still replaced the single Optimus speaker with two Pioneer 6x9s from Best Buy.

Lol nope. But I seriously questioned it myself when I heard the name. Thought I would ask around since not too many people here in North America seem to be familiar with them.

And I grew up cruising around to different car shows in my uncles 63 Mercury Monterey with a center speaker! I know that sound!

My sound goal: First I have to get rid of the window rattle, get some sound deadening. Amped speakers, and 1 or 2 small subs.

it depends if you are really into audio, with active setups, a dsp is needed to tell how the speakers play, what frequency to play at.a good radio can do this now, need an amp to power the speakers, some use multi-channel, some use multiple amps.
there is a increase in sound output when you dont use the passive crossover.
my 4runner is is running the hertz, i got 1 amp that does the mid only(rf t600-2) and another for the tweeter(rf t400-2). the taco is using the jl audio 300/4, each channel is driving the focal k2p mid and tn52 tweeter.
also got a camry that is using a rf t600-4 powering up focal k2p in active.
each system sounds different. 4runner the loudest. camry is second and tacoma is third. this is because the tacoma has a smaller amp, but its plenty loud for other driver that uses the truck.

How do you mount the two way speakers? Do the tweeters go in place of the stock tweeter spot?
