Good choice, I like my Hertz. I had to have a 10" sub to feel the drums, I'd consider it

Hertz haz a good name. I recently decided to buy my son a stereo system for his Scion xB for a graduation present. Hertz made the final cut, but I went with Morel Maximo's instead. Cheap, yeah. If he wants any more than than he'll work for it.

I was on the fence between hertz, focal, and audio frog. I ended up with focal just cause I got a better deal on them. Waiting to get my sound deadener and some wires then going full bore on my install. Going to be running, focal components up front, Polk audio coaxials in the rear doors for some fill, and a single jl 13tw5 in a mr. Marv enclosure with amp rack. Doing sound reading on just the doors and rear wall. Everything is going to run off a 5-channel alpine amp.

I would suggest at least running some sound deadening at least around the speaker openings at the minimum.

Sound deadening and a new headunit will improve the sound ten-fold. Speakers are just a band-aid for the low quality source signal coming from the headunit. Hertz is a great brand, throw those in, clean up the signal with a DSP or new headunit, and you’ll be good to go.
