    I've toyed with the idea of changing from a hard tonneau cover to a shell, but the thought stops when I think of "wasting" what I paid for the Bakflip G2. Yes, I could try and sell it, but I hate the hassle and I have a long bed, which limits the market. Plus what the shells cost, and the wait time (not the biggest deal, but still). Would be nice though :)

    I have a short box, but my uncle has the long box. When he was looking for a tonneau cover, they were always sold right away. The damage will be there!

    Sure would be nice :boink::anonymous:

    Seriously though, I'd encourage anyone to make the investment if they were already pretty convinced they'd love it. You should list your Bakflip for "more than what you think is fair" and IF it sells, awesome. If not, no loss. I've done this with a handful of things I was on the fence about getting rid of, and when the right buyers came along, the decision was much easier. Listing high also cuts down alot of lowballers anyways. A couple times the right buyers never came along, and I was still happy that I never sold those items, so it definitely goes both ways. But there's only one way to know for sureo_O

    7C9B9D6E-B02A-4F34-87AC-985CA10E64F5.jpg I’m actually pretty impressed by the color match that the ARE did!

    Purchased like this but didn’t fit in garage with tire on top.
    I removed basket and racks for the winter also.

    I loved the look of my truck without the topper. Initially I was planning on a decked system with a soft topper. Yet, decided on a cap. Keeps my hunting gear safe/dry, and can easily put a kennel in there for the dog when I’m after waterfowl. I’ve got the RSI EvoA. It’s been great thus far. I’ve experienced very minor leaks which butyl tape solved. Love the gulwing doors. The Sport model has sliding windoors on each side which would would help for airflow on hotter days with the dog. Thankfully it’s damn cold/rainy when the dog is in the back/bed. Eventually I’ll grab one of the sport doors to have some extra airflow back there.

    TLDR: the RSI cap is not cheap, but it has been worth it for my needs.

    IMG_0671.jpg I've had topper-less trucks and 4Runners. Pros and cons, but the current iteration is the best so far: '21 TRDOR, access cab with Snugtop Rebel. Have yet to encounter anything that wouldn't fit inside or on top, but she is mostly a garage queen. Very nice to be able to pack all my stuff for long road trips, then sleep in the back.

    I'll never go back to not having a shell. I picked mine up secondhand from a member here on the forums. It's a Leer 100XR in Cement, so almost the exact picture you were looking for. I've had the rails for month to mount a Prinsu TopRack, but haven't had the heart to drill holes in the shell yet.

    When I ran across an ARE that matched my truck for $500 I couldn't pass it up.

    Nice set up! From a cost perspective I wish I got my topper used. I got my 100XR new so I was able to get the rails from the factory but I totally get the hesitancy to install the rails yourself. The only thing I would have done differently is I would have gotten the windoors on the sides but that would have cost almost an extra $1,000! When you eventually bolt down the rails my only advise is be generous with the silicone.

    I have a a 100XR and love mine. I think it still maintains the truck appeal. If you want to have the dogs in there but still have some room for small things I might also suggest building a raised plywood bed for it. Gives the dogs room to run around and space underneath for storage. Can also be used for camping as shown in one of the pics.

    I would not go forward without my topper. Look around for used. I did. It took me 3-4 months of looking. There are really very few 3rd gen toppers out there ( at least in my area) for sale used. I never even looked for color matched as there are very few to zero in army green. I found a great deal from a member here on TW. It was a 2000 mile round trip drive to pick up but I was going on the vacation anyway and just took a detour. Shell, Prinsu Rack and awning. Do not rule out non color matched. Raptor liner in black (you can do it tintable as well to match your cement truck)
    20221127_150353.jpg
    In terms of lifting it off. I was able to do it by myself. How often do you really need to take it off?

    Love my RSI. Wouldn’t own a truck without a topper. Huge fan of being able to put gear in the back and lock it up. Also can put wet and muddy gear back there and still hose it out.
