Question fellow Ca emission follower. Is the bypass Ca compliant?

Also, did they warranty it under the Ca Emission Longterm Warranty? Or how did you go about it? Mine is in the shop in socal right now and want to know what to tell them if they come back with a "No".

    Edit:
Got news back from Tustin Toyota. Parts are covered under warranty at no cost. I am in California. Bad news is it is on back order. They said it's driveable as is, even with the Limp Mode.. I should hear back Monday about the backorder eta.

I recently just purchased the secondary air injection system bypass kit from Hewitt technologies. Anyone have any tricks on disconnecting and connecting the ECT connector on the back of the engine. Also my harness has extra plugs on it and I don't know where the hell they go.

    Hey Guys,
I am not on the forums very often anymore unless I get an email notification someone has posted in a thread I am subscribed to. There were some initial issues with our offering or people installing the wrong unit on the newer vehicles. If you emailed me i did not get it as I respond to everything as quickly as I can and even check my junk-mail regularly. It looks like there was a lot of confusion and a lack of support after my last post but I assure you it is not intentional, I just didn't know.

For the 2012 Tacoma 4.0L and the 08-12 Tacoma 2.7L the current bypass kit is the V52H.

We have built our company and reputation on customer support before and after. Sometimes there are issues with email that are out of our hands and we just don't get them, if we do we respond asap.
If there are every any questions or issues it is best to contact us directly by email at support@hewitt-tech.com and even better call us Toll Free 844-307-7671.
I will try to monitor this forum a little bit better but direct contact is the most reliable.
    Paul

Hewitt links not working? Is this kit available for the 2014 Tacoma with the 4.0? Does the kit work reliably, can anyone verify?

I figured out why i wasn't getting thread notifications. So...

Currently the only kits for the Tacoma that we have are for the 2005-2012 2.7L and the 2012 4.0L

Following up on a previous post. All current 2013 and newer 4.0L vehicles will run the pumps at shutdown which is why our current bypass kits will not work on them.

We are working on a newer product that will hopefully cover the 2013 to current model year as well as let you actually remove most of the system components without needing something like our pump replacement packs or valve replacement packs.

Here is a link to the current V52H kit for the 2008-2012 vehicles.

I have a 2015, and am interested in the new product you are working on that will allow me to eliminate the pump altogether.

In case you needed any encouragement...

This goofy air injection pump had better be saving about a thousand whales per year for the amount of irritation and expense we are all going to have to go through when this system shits the bed. Seriously, who comes up with this nonsense??? ...Not referring to the Hewitt system, just the original BS equipment on our trucks.

You can thank the EPA and CARB. It is easier for the manufactures to make one vehicle and not worry about having to have another just to meet CA emmissions requirements.
It makes sense for places like LA and other places like that but for the majority of us it doesn't especially because it's not just a $100 air pump like the smog pumps used to be.

The goal of the New product (a true delete kit) is to be able to remove the entire system. Developing it the way I am should also let us get around the system running at shutdow like the 2013 and newer vehicles do. We will be doing plenty of beta testing when we are ready. Some of you are ideal candidates. The best place to get updates is our Facebook page.

Regardless if HT replies I still won't change my review. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it.

If the pump has already failed in my 2012, limp mode, codes have already been thrown etc.. , will this kit (v52H) "fix" my problem by telling the computer that everything is functioning normally, even though it is not?

Or does this kit have to be installed before the pump fails to be effective?
