Kind of a Catch 22, though...by the time he even had a chance to respond, the overwhelming masses of the internet mob had already tried, convicted, and sentenced him to death by way of a Blood Eagle...then they went after his family, etc.

Even a very public, nationwide apology at this point would have a very limited effect...

3rd Gen Tacoma’s have a brutal reputation. Axles falling out(even though it was just one guy that I know of), I hear of lots of problems, and lots of the owners are doing silly wannabe overland stuff with theirs, which makes them look very silly. 3rd Gen “overland built” Tacoma’s are the Honda-Civic-with-fart-cans of the truck world.

Don’t mean to offend anyone with one. That’s my interpretation of the 3rd Gen hate. They’re cool looking trucks though.

There aren’t groups out there trying to restrict access to public roads who can take every slight as an excuse to further limit access though. So not quite am apples to apples comparison imo.

I’m not saying he deserved to be doxxed or whatever. Nobody deserves that in fact. Nobody deserves to have their employer info posted or photos of their significant other or children on the internet without their permission.

What I’m talking about is taking some shit from some of the off-road meme accounts on IG or casually being told he’s an idiot. Nothing of the magnitude I mentioned earlier.

The 3rd gen sucks so bad, they are having to create a 3rd plant to keep up with demand.

I agree, some shit-talking, some teaching, some insults whatever.

This is just another example I've seen of folks talking it too far here though, it's sad to watch.

Overland builds come neck and neck with the SEMA bro truck “builds”.

I used to frequent Pirate4x4 a lot in my Jeep days and there was a thread there titled “Diesel trucks, the ricers of the future”. Those overland trucks definitely fit in that thread

I don't agree with the whole problems part of your argument. But it does seem that a lot of Jeep guys got bored of their 4-door wranglers and decided to buy 3rd gen tacomas to put their RTT's on.

No one needs to be fired over this!

If this was me, and I had posted that photo and been receiving hate, and someone forwarded it to my employer...my employer would politely ask you to stop wasting their time. This is a non issue for employers. As well it should be. This guy learned to not post silly photos like this with a description like this. He learned, there’s nothing else to it really.

Sadly I think it’s just the day we live in. Fly off the handle online for 3-4 hours and then move onto the next outrage.

I stay away and lurk. Unfortunately lately it keeps happening to 3rd gen guys furthering our collective bad reputation lol.

The only reason he avoids the 3rd gen threads is he gets sucked in and ends up getting the hammer when ever he goes there... :anonymous:

I always think back to De Niro in Ronin where he says I never walk into a place I don’t know how to walk out of.

Gonna go into 3rd gen, gotta have an exit strategy.
