I'm needing to renew my DL. Last time I did it was at AAA in Old Saybrook. Before that was at AAA in Branford, two minutes from my house but they stopped. I'll have to stop in and see if they do it again. It costs $8 extra but it's well worth it.

 

Oh it wayyyyyyyyyyy better....What about the AAA in Hamden. Thats actually a really nice one. Ive gone there a few times even though its not necessarily close. Although its not that far either. Last time I did mine I think was at a Nutmeg State Credit Union, not as good as AAA but better than DMV

 

I'll have to see which one does it. Not sure why the one by my house stopped.

 

try registering a "home built trailer".

you have to have the weight to register it.
The weigh station is an hour away.
You have to tow the trailer to the weigh station to weigh it.
To tow the trailer, it has to be registered.
to register a trailer, you must have the weight.
and round & round CT makes you go.

CT basically begs you to lie to them because there's no temp plate option.

 

Wanted to redo the connector on the compressor and I messed up the terminals I had. I just ordered more of them, 10 male and 10 female. They should be here in a couple days.

I could still start on the rest of the harness. Going to work to grab my soldering iron.

That said it was the newness that made it mostly suck, the RMV has gotten better at it.

They wanted a copy of the divorce decree with the raised seal for my wife's name change, which they didn't use that seal back then.

I couldn't prove my birth name..hell I didn't even know it back then. Not since it changed at age 6 months.

But it's a learning experience for them too and it's been much smoother from everyone I've heard in recent times.

 

I was going through my box of parts and came across some fender emblems I got from a junkyard in the old days.
Used to have them on in the 80s and forgot I still had them.
Sooo, I put them back on yesterday.
Wonder if it will fool anybody.

Big show few miles from me today. Saw lots of interesting rides when I was grabbing a coffee this morning. And smelled a lot of cars that need the carb rejetted

 

Last time I had them on, a guy came up to me and said it doesn't sound like a six banger.
I told him it was an exhaust leak.

 

My 84 Camaro had a quiet exhaust (which I later added Thrush mufflers to but not the loud ones) and it sounded like a V6 until I got on it hard.

I use to renew mine at the aaa in old saybrook also when visiting my brother there. Now it's 8 years online. At least thats easier.
