    Playing catchup...
Earthquake for me in Brookfield - felt like the building was collapsing. fortunately zero issues.
Today I went up to my attic, saw a pillow on the floor & asked it why it was there. Then I remembered the earthquake. Guess that was my damage at home, pillow fell off the shelf.

Tuesday after voting & G.P.ing I agreed to a thing which led to my doing a thing this morning.
Cold out today, wind just wouldn't stop but the scattered sunshine helped.

Put my hoe to work today, a couple hours at it & I'm satisfied. My hoe needs a good cleaning though.
    IMG_20240406_182832621.jpg

The thing was bought a Boxer - used it to move soil from hither to yon, then used the hoe to expose the roots, there's 10 there & I'm only almost 1/2 way around.
    Obligatory Tacoma rear-end teaser.

I've absolutely destroyed the turf, but if the neighbors going to flood it & the other neighbors chickens are going to tear it up - WTH I might as well tear it up myself. I'll work to remove the 3 tree stumps, pull out the eroding hillside that's burying my garage, dig out some parking spots into the hill along the driveway so I can choose any vehicle without moving something first, straighten the kink in the driveway none of my guests can navigate, regrade the back yard, then.... Guess I'll be done with the Boxer then.
Those tracks really destroy wet turf - LOL. But what are the chances the lawn will ever dry if I wait for it to? Like zero % in my world.

Thank you, finally made it there tonight right before they closed. Great stuff, I had previously enjoyed the Sea Hag at the Irish pub on Orange Street but the other IPAs they have at the actual brewery are actually superior (IMHO). Getting to New England Brewing Company though ....

Despite trying, I continue to end up at the top of West Rock around dusk for some reason (work interferes with an earlier departure, the walk from downtown to the Springside Ave. trailhead takes too long etc.), which complicates getting down on the various trails because of the lack of light. The road that winds to the top was just paved and is closed to vehicles until May, so it works well enough to walk down (would be a killer spot for roller blades right now due to the fresh clean asphalt and no cars). But trying to get over to the brewery from the end of that paved road, from the park entrance on Wintergreen Ave., proved to be a challenge this evening. There is a fire road that goes back up to the ridgeline and continues along the ridge, past radio/cell towers and some other structures (all of which are fairly creepy in the dark). This is Baldwin Drive on the park map and it snakes past the Heroes/Parkway tunnels several times, which is an interesting view (i.e. looking down at the traffic from the hillside above the tunnels). I thought there would be some sort of unmarked spur trail leading down to the Amity side and the brewery, but there isn't (at least not visible at/after dusk). It is in fact quite a steep drop from that fire road on the ridge down to the west and the fields and lakes that I believe are in the adjacent town (Woodbridge). Walked along Baldwin for quite a ways, but gave up hope and turned around. Thankfully no one bothered me in the dark, although there were some kids fooling around on motorcycles. Planning to go back in daylight like an intelligent person would do.

...and the next morning reminds you you aint twenty-something anymore.
Is hard work like beer? More beer fixes a hangover, will more physical work cure all these aches and pains? :benchpress:

Be very aware of your surroundings walking on those trails. NH isn’t the most crime free area.

Yes, PC LOL. What was going through the mind was; “please, please be packing when you go there or you’re asking to get mugged at the very least. The NH-Hamden line ghetto is right there. Not a safe place to be alone especially after dark!”

I have to go to Norwalk Saturday morning for the kiddo's first game of the season for the new club that we're playing for.

Norwalk isn't really the best either unfortunately.

I lived in East Norwalk for a couple years with the ex. EN was nice....used to just bike/roller blade down to the beach or load up the 4runner with coolers and chairs etc. nothing like resident parking for free while all others had to pay - esp during the heights of covid.

all of that being said....norwalk proper sucks as well.
