I know what I’m asking Santa for.

 

My wife does the same thing with my Sirius XM subscription. Actually, she does that with a lot of things. Crazy how that's all it takes, and BAM it's right back down.

 

Yeah, I do that with them again. Gotta set a reminder in my phone calendar to call again before the promo ends or it goes back up. I've been paying for the full service from them in order to get Stern but I just can't bring myself to listen to him anymore so I can definitely cut the bill by dropping him. Then I need to call Directv, they'll cut the bill in half for 12 months to keep you as a customer and I let that lapse. Then the cable company to get the internet bill lowered. Good thing I'm off all week next week.

The few times I've worked on the stuff it sucks so bad. I did rewire part of an old car once but the cut and splice method..car was $100 beater though

Nice, I tried to get DTV to work with me after about 15 yrs and they wouldn't budge. Nor did they ever honour the box upgrade we were promised. But when I cancelled, boy did they call me a lot.

Best offer they could make was free movie channels for 3 months. I told them I have never bought them for a reason, that I don't have time for it, so what's that do for me? They said it was an offer to loyal customers. I asked "where's your loyalty to me when you confirmed a box upgrade and then never did it? Where's loyalty when I'm renting a broken remote and you've said 4 times you'll replace it and never have?"

 

It was a rhetorical question.

I called DTV twice and both times they cut it in half for 12 months. Just like Sirius/XM they've been hemorrhaging customers for years and will make a deal to keep their subscriber numbers up so the company looks better on paper.

That and while I'm sure TV provider costs do go up and it has to come from somewhere, they aren't going to starve anytime soon either. Had they just given me the damn box upgrade they promised 4 yrs prior and replaced the broken item they said they would, I might not have looked elsewhere.

 

I hear you. I had the LNB on the dish go bad and they wanted to charge me for a house call to figure out why I lost signal. After some back and forth they sent a couple of guys to come fix it for free rather than have me cancel.

 

I guess you were right, it looks like they're done giving discounts to me so after 15 years it's time to go. Now I've gotta figure out what I want to switch to.

 

I went Xfinity and got a good bundle, which included a nice boost in home Net since I work at home now

Still undecided on whether I want to mount my compressor switch inside or under the hood. I have an empty switch blank to the left of the steering column that is staring at me.

Unfortunately, the only game in town for cable here is Optimum. You can get Verizon DSL for internet but it's not enough to support our needs. Been looking at Starlink but it's $350 up front to buy the equipment and then $10/month more than I pay now. The nice thing about it is you can take the "antenna" with you when you go other places so if you have a vacation home or go RV'ing you have fast, reliable internet basically anywhere.

 

I have mine in the cab. Kind of a pain to go back in to turn it off, but im in there anyways turning the truck off.

That was my vote last weekend. Put it next to the device so you don’t have to go back and forth.

 

Unless you plan to be using the compressor on the go, like to air up suspension air bags or for an air horn or something, then i vote next to the compressor.
