When you are committed in your head to the idea that you are worth far more than the crap dumped on you currently, when you believe that, then you will be able to properly sell yourself in an interview & will be able to properly interview the interviewer.
You don't want to just take any job because it's not your current job - you want to interview the companies & find a corporate culture with practices that value you as a contributor to making the company a better, healthier place. To be valued. To be heard. To be elevated & allowed to elevate.

Good luck Nuno. It's out there. A lot of HR goes on vacation in August, then hire in earnest in Sept. So expect a lot of activity in July, then August things lull & are frustrating. Then the kids will be in school & shit gonna go BOOM. Hang on!

I don't think it's that I'm not committed to it. I think it's more of me wanting to be able to achieve it on my own, and find something on my own rather than rely on the help of others. No offense to anyone of course, because I do appreciate the offer to help. It's just the way I am; I like to make my own "luck" and earn things on my own.

I do get what you mean, and RESPECT that attitude more than I can get across on here. However, don't shoot yourself in the foot, when your competitors are asking all their buddies.

Wise advice. When I was looking to make a move in the early 90's a friend shot me an email saying don't know if you'd be interested in this but thought I'd pass this along. Twenty seven years later I retired from that position.

I had a tree limb make a 3" hole in the roof on the back of my garage. Until I could get it replaced, the Flex Tape and some extra FS in a can fixed it..the guy even said I did a good job for someone who isn't a roofer

 

as someone looking at applicants on indeed pretty much daily - it's REALLY hard to communicate effectively who you are on those platforms. It is so easy to misinterpret what people are trying to communicate. If someone says I know a guy I'll talk to the guy (unless someone is a PIA - LOL).

But your luck is made in the interview. That's all you.

Get in the door any way you can. Make your luck inside mano-a-mano.
