Morning all. Everyone make it through the storms and flash flooding yesterday unscathed? Most in my neck of the woods just missed a file or two north.

I have had it with the rain ,water is back again in the basement. Over 12” of rain this month here .

 

We had a storm at 2:00 am that shook the house so hard it knocked a picture off the wall. Vernon has a number of small dams from its time as a milltown. We've lived here forty years and have never seen water spilling over like we saw this morning.

I'd bet the Naugatuck River must be roaring down your way. I grew up in Torrington and there are still marks on some of the older buildings from the 1955 flood.

Willington was pounded yet again!
It's getting worse every time it poor's on account the town can't keep up with the work.

 

So I noticed yesterday that my AC is not blowing out cold air.

Worked fine the last time I used it, which was on 7/2 when I made the trip to Tree House up in MA.

Yesterday, when I was out running an errand with the kiddos, it started to rain so I rolled up the windows and turned on the AC. That's when I realized/noticed it was just blowing out "normal" air instead of cold. Hoping it just needs to be recharged, and it's not the AC compressor that shit the bed. Gotta go to the auto parts store and pickup one of those do it yourself kits to see if that does it.

Your just bitter they did some sort of fix, and didnt need 35s to cross it.

 

I'll be honest I was hoping the road was gone
It's not going to be long before it is gone though.
They shouldn't be allowing heavy rigs on it right now that's for sure...
No one knows how hallow the road is at this point.

 

Id hate to be the poor person who learns that the hard way.

It nuts, saw on the news earlier that 44 was closed somewhere on your side of the state because it washed out.

Apparently they are doing a water release on a bunch of the reservoirs that feed the Farmington to keep them from straining. Angry river about to get worse.

 

That's going to be 1 hell of a kayak ride!
I'm hoping I get to do the willimantic river this weekend.
Class 3 up by me for about 5 miles!
And a 3 foot drop!!!

 

We did whitewater rafting on the kennebec up in Maine for our senior trip in hs. Such a killer time. I love watching the whitewater kayakers, but Im too much of a wuss for that these days.

Early spring, snow still on the ground, right after the dam release.
Class 5 kick ass ride!
Talk about an adrenaline rush, and you literally can't move the next day

 

As much fun as that sounds, I would never get the boss to sign off on that. For reasons, whitewater kayaking is on the very short list of things I cannot do.

 

Dumb question but I"m guessing you didn't hear the compressor kick in..
