I'm not sure exactly how it ruins the receiver/dryer. I believe it has some desiccant in it. After the receiver/dryer is toast, the expansion valve is typically next on the list for moisture attack.

 

Very true..I know the R12 and R134a are different just not sure re the actual effects in this case.

In my example, the vehicle had sat for 2 years and a couple of months before I bought it and I knew nothing of the history prior, so it was worth the small investment to fill er up and see what happened next. The car also wasn't worth much in the first place..

 

Still have a couple of cans of the "real" stuff kicking around here somewhere.
It's yet another product that worked and then banned by the gooberment.

 

At that time (1998) one could still purchase the small cans with proper licensure. I was lucky that her mom's boyfriend did HVAC for a living in buildings.

 

I cannot confirm nor deny that I have about 12 cans of the ‘stuff’ for the old cars.

Welp, as of yesterday I'm moving to Beverly, MA

 

There's a ton of water in upstate NY and all of VT.
We pipeline oil, why can't we pipeline water for the West?
I'm not sure what is worse though, fire damage or water damage
I foresee a ton of roads that are going to need some serious attention.
Just hope it doesn't get windy anytime soon, that could spell a real disaster.

Wife got in to grad school in Boston so we'll be up that way for a couple years at least, most of my immediate family is moving out of state as well so it'll be weird not being around everyone but I'm excited for this

 

Beverly is in Essex County and is one of the best places to live in Massachusetts. Living in Beverly offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Beverly there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in Beverly and residents tend to lean liberal

 

Literally said this to the wife two weeks ago. They stopped that big oil pipeline and everyone was making a big deal about the workers getting laid off. Lets put em back to work, and help our thirsty friends out west.

Water is a lucrative business. Surprised no ones stepped up to that opportunity yet.

 

You may be underestimating the enormous scale of water relocation project, not to mention the secondary and tertiary problems that are likely to arise once such a system has been established.

Oil and gas pipelines work because of the higher value/lower volumes that flow through them. What you're suggesting is a man made river across the entire US that would need to exceed the flow of any single natural river.

 

I've also been meaning to ask since my new york registration is up this month: Am I basically gonna have to pay to register twice or is the new york one good for the year up in mass?

 

I might me simplifying it and underestimating it, but crazier things have been thought up and accomplished.
