I haven't been paying attention,
how are the little ones are doing because of the Covid/

The Mrs, myself and the oldest kept testing negative throughout the entire thing. The youngest was the only one who had it. And even the day she was sick, she started getting better before we even got home from the doc. Fever went down on it's own without meds.

We did the 10 day quarantine thing because she tested positive. Kept the kids apart, and whenever the Mrs or I had to go near her, we wore masks just in case.

Doc thinks it could have been a very mild case, that she didn't spread it because of that. But I call bullshit. I do because she clearly was sick, I held her the day she was sick, and we were all in the same car for over an hour waiting for the doc to let her go into the office to be tested, and none of us were wearing masks.

All she had was congestion, andta small cough. By the time the 10 days were over, she was as good as new.

 

And in other news... I did an "old man" thing today.

Finally caved and called and went to a chiropractor. Even though my back has been fine this week, I had to get on things, just in case.

Chiro said he doesn't thing it's a disk, sciatica, or anything like that. Based on what I described, and what he felt when he was poking and prodding, he thinks it's a muscle thing.

Said my joints and movement are good, but definitely some stiffness going on in the lower back area. Thinks it could have been my muscle that got messed up when I first hurt it about 2 years ago, and never really got better. Said with an adjustment once in a while, and some messages regularly it should feel better, and stay feeling good on a regular basis.

 

You'll love it. My wife has 2 junk discs in the L area. Works like a charm.

 

The main question/doubt now is, how often should I do it.

That's something I have to think about and figure out. Meaning, should I do one thing every other week? Or both every week? Or maybe every couple of weeks? Guess it all depends on how I feel, and how much I want to do it.

 

While during an episode, as they suggest. Probly be 2x a week or maybe 3.

After that, some say you should go once every 6-12 months but I figure you and the doc can decide. She doesn't go for years at a time unless it starts acting up

Go as often as your insurance will let you, there's no downside. I've gone every four weeks for years. Consider it preventive care. If you're comfortable with the idea get your neck done. My neck sounds like a zipper when it's done and feels great afterwards.

And ask around for a massage therapist. Amazing what a good one can do.

It is unbelievably muggy outside.

 

Ive been going for a few years, been to three of them due to moving. Generally once you get your initial re-alignment which can take a few visits over a short period of time, they start to add a week inbetween until you start to see an issue and then make that the regular schedule, with extras if needed.

I go every two weeks just because I like how it feels after, and I feel my stiffness recede. I probably need a pro massage but I feel weird about that stuff and the only one I ever got, I think I got propositioned by an older lady who was INSISTANT that my underwear come off too and I've never been back


Another thing to think about with the covid...those tests are being changed and FDA is looking for new ones currently. She could have just had a false positive, and a cold. Common cold and flu can set some of them off. Did she only have the one test? I wonder what an anti-body test would show for your family, I feel like you guys had a run over the winter maybe?

 

Thanks for the input on the chiro! Definitely gonna think about it, and figure out how I want to go about it.

As for the youngest... yeah, she only had the one test. Doc said it was pointless to test again because it would likely be positive again, and that wouldn't really do us any good. Luckily nothing over the winter though. The oldest just had to quarantine a couple of times because of possible close contact at school.

 

We just got over that storm here in ny, and I get to drive right back into it today

 

makes sense, and even if it came back negative the second time they would still prob want to keep you guys quarantined just to be safe

 

Yeah, probably. I would think so, since the first one was positive.

Either way, all good now. Back to "normal".

Nuno, if the back problems continue, DO get it checked out by a GOOD Orthopedic Doc.

Contrary to what the Chiro may think, you may have damaged goods already in your back , that won't be revealed till you get an MRI. You may risk more damage if undiagnosed.

When I blew out my L4/L5, I had no back pain at all. It was all Sciatic in my right leg. Like flamethrower pain with a foot drag.
Surgery was in the cards and 5 years later, all is good.
