Heard from Toyota.

Said the "steering angle" needed to be re calibrated, and that is why the light came on.

They did that, drove it twice and didn't come back on. Said it's a 3 trip logic system, so going to drive it again this afternoon, and if it doesn't come back on it's all set.

Then going to prep it for the undercoating spray, and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon by EOD.

What kind of work are you doing?

Sweet..mine was 3-4 days for the undercoating but that was about 3-4 years ago

 

Either electrical or low voltage work, looking like low voltage will pay as well or better and be less strenuous but im not picky atm

Hey yall,

Im starting to look at Audio upgrades in my truck. The rear drivers side speaker is dead, Front drivers is starting to go, Aux input disconnects and is just getting annoying. So im starting to building my plan.
Head unit, 4 door speakers, Sound deadening material in the doors. Maybe at some point I will get a 10" sub behind the passenger seat Boom Boom lol Crutchfield has a lot of the things that im looking for. Do you have any recommendations on Car audio shops to check out, especially for installing the head unit and maybe the amp for sub? I will do the door speakers and sound deadening material myself.

 

Not sure re local to you but the head unit is pretty easy at least.

 

As far as sound deadening, the rear wall and floor is as important as the doors maybe even more so. On my doors I used the typical butyl and foil material. Don't remember what, I think it was Kilmat, they're all pretty much the same. On the rear wall and floor on top of that I used Noico self-adhesive closed cell foam. It's the foam that makes the biggest difference. At some point I'll probably open the doors back up and foam them also. Mass loaded vinyl is the ultimate but a pain in the butt to work with.

I have the stock head unit into a Memphis Audio line amp, into a Sony amp into Audiofrog speakers. I had a good shop tune the amp and my imaging is fantastic. You can really hear things like the drums behind the guitars, keyboard to the side, etc. like you would live. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary. Your effort will be worth it in the end. The stock head isn't that bad, it just needs a lot more power. I'd spend the money on amp and speakers first and then head unit down the road.

 

If you don’t mind, where are you located? It might help recommend a place.

 

I'd say sound deadening before head unit too. People don't understand how big a deal it is, and how it adds to the car even without music. Your conversations will be way better and quieter, and if your ears are sensitive you may see less driver fatigue over longer trips.
