Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

New third brake light housing installed last week when it was warm. That cheesy foam gasket was pretty messed up when I took the old housing out. Next rain storm will tell me if that was the culprit.

Afternoon Connecticut

 

Saw one of these in New Haven yesterday and it looked like it was still alive.

 

Good snowy morning CT.

Still working on that pesky little dash harness of mine.
Going to pick up a couple connectors at the dealer this week (mainly for the heated mirrors).

I'm laying out all the wires I need now so when I get the connectors I can start making the final connections.

There is one plug that I removed from the harness and I need to check if it's in my truck. There were some wires in it that I removed and rerouted them so that plug might only be in newer trucks.

 

As much as I hate CT,
It's definitely my favorite climate to live in.
There's not to many places on Earth that has the potential for the weather to do whatever it wants
Maybe tomorrow it lightning with rainbows and pots of gold!

Over 50 degrees yesterday and 1/2” snow last night

Went for a 6 mile hike in North Stonington yesterday (Tri-Town Preserve blue trail). Temperature was about 57°F and trails were great. This morning woke up to about 1 inch of snow on the ground and they are expecting about 3 to 4 more inches before it's over. Have a great day out there!!

 

2" and still falling. Drove my car yesterday for first time since before Christmas , full wash and dry and then back under the cover and battery maintainer plugged in. It was nice while it lasted.

During my TAT run (July 2021), I will agree that TN drivers were the worst. On-trail manners of the locals were generally poor, bordering on rude. On-road manners were as you described.

Happy snowy Sunday. Will the snow ever stop this winter? FAK!

 

Drive the Taco for the first time yesterday. Been parked since before they started Brining the roads. Worked a champ. Home in time to go back into hibernation before the snow got here.

 

Tried to change the headlight bulb on my GMC Acadia Denali.

Yeah... Epic fucking fail.

Bought what I thought was the correct bulb based on what I was able to find online. Go in to replace it, which is not easy by the way because of how they make the engine bays now-a-days, and yeah, pretty sure it's the wrong one.

I think what's in there is some special hid bulb or some crap, which I don't know how to remove. So instead of breaking shit, just gonna take it to the stealership and have them do it. It also needs an oil change, so hopefully will kill two birds with one stone.

I looked it up on YouTube last night, and that's what gave me the confidence to do it... But guess it wasn't the right thing. Unless it was, and somehow the previous owner put in different headlights when they owned it.

 

Always a possibility, are there any boxes after the wiring harness going back?

 

Not that I can see. But I also can't get in there from the top. I have to go in from the wheel whell, by removing the plastic covering. So hard to see up there. I have to feel around with my hand. But what I felt where the light bulb is, definitely didn't feel like a regular light bulb. Felt bigger, squarish sort of speak.
