Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

Welp, it's that time again. Time to start driving the '02 again. Call it spring fever!

 

Anyone here in IT, or knows how to mess around with that sort of stuff?

Here's my problem.

Kids both have Amazon Fire tablets, the kids version. The youngest loves to take pics & make videos of herself doing stuff, which take up a SHITLOAD of memory. I want to take all of those pics and move them to an SD card that I just threw in it, but can't figure out how. I've plugged the tablet to my pc with a usb cable, chose the file transfer mode, but can't seem to actually get into the tablet and find the pics. I've also tried to click on the pics and see if there is an option to "move" them, but only option it gives me is to delete them. And I've also downloaded apps ; one is es file explorer, and the other is total commander, but can't seem to figure out if you can use it (or how to use it) to move those files onto the SD card.

So... Does anyone know what or how to do it, if it's even possible?

 

I’m only a year or so into smoking meats but I personally think brisket was a bit easier than pulled pork. I just don’t get the crazy results I expected for my pulled pork and I thought the brisket was phenomenal. I also recently did a cured pork belly smoked and sliced into bacon which also makes phenomenal burnt ends!

I had a job interview yesterday and it looks like I may be back in the automotive industry as a tech.
It's more money and a little more of a drive but at least I'll be doing something I like.

Was at my periodontist yesterday being evaluated for a dental implant. This will be my second one. The tiny torque wrench they use to screw in the titanium stud is fascinating. Very weird to hear the clicking of the ratching action inside your head.

 

Sometimes the size of the file is too large for the app to handle. One possible option may be to move them to Google Drive and then from Google Drive to the SD card.

 

I might have to check into that then... see if I can upload it from her tablet to the drive, and then take it off there.

 

Similar to when I had surgery on my big toe (gas tank fell on it).
My leg was numb but I was awake when they were cutting bone. Weird feeling, vibrations up the leg.

This thing was just under 10 pounds before it went in. Trimmed some fat off before the mustard and rub went on and sat for about 10 hours with the rub before the smoke. About 13 hours at 225.

 

I only personally have experience uploading from a digital camera or my Iphone. We have a kids kindle tablet but the little guy hasnt found the camera app yet, so we havent crossed this bridge.

There are 2 ways to do this from using a USB to computer, or uploading it to the Amazon cloud.

Transferring Photos via USB:

• Connect your Kindle Fire to your computer using the USB cable that came with the device.
• Type "computer" on the Start screen and select "Computer." Double-click "Kindle" under Portable Devices.
• Click the Pictures
• Double-click "Internal Storage" and then double-click the "Pictures" folder.
• Select the pictures you want
• Select the pictures you want. Drag or copy and paste them to the desired location on your computer.

Transferring Photos via Cloud Drive

• Go to the Amazon Cloud Drive website (https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=15547130011) and log in to the Amazon account associated with your Kindle Fire.
• Click on the Pictures folder
• Click on the "Pictures" folder and then click the "Kindle Photos" folder.
• Select the check boxes
• Select the check boxes of the pictures you want to download and click the "Download" button. Choose where you want to save the photos and click "Save.

 

Thanks a lot Mike. I came across that last night as well. Tried the USB thing but didn't seem to work. Not exactly sure why, but my laptop wasn't recognizing the tablet as a "drive" in order to "go into it", look for the pics and move them. Might have to try it again and go through the motions. Maybe I did something wrong.

If all else fails, I might need to do the cloud thing.

 

Quality work right there Mike. Do you make your own bbq sauce? I usually do a South Carolina style mustard one and also a Dr. Pepper based one. I think the next time I do chicken I'll try an Alabama style white sauce. Amazing Ribs website has some great recipes.

I only tried making my own bbq sauce once, way back when I was in college. Didn’t turn out the greatest, but I didn’t put a lot of research or effort into it. Id be willing to give it another go.

 

I'm not a techie but I wonder if there's a driver of some kind your tablet/PC need to recognize each other, just a thought
