Had to pickup the oldest from school a bit ago.

Was complaining that his throat hurt a bit, and was coughing and sneezing a bit.

Come to find out, there were about 6 or 7 kids out yesterday, and a confirmed case of the flu in his class.

My kiddo has allergies, and we were outside A LOT this past weekend, so thinking it's that. But... "new" school policy is that I had to give him a at home Covid test and send the nurse a pic. Done, and done. Negative.

But as a precaution, I'm taking him to Urgent Care to get swabbed for the flu, just in case.

Hopefully it's just some post nasal drip from allergies, that are irritating his throat, and he'll be a lot better tomorrow so he can go back to school and not go to the nurse and sent home again.

Came in 1 way had to turn around to back in, you'll see when I get back there.
Watched 2 drivers do it very poorly, taking too much time running curbs over...
Little circle is just to small to just spin around so it is a bit complicated.
I do it in like a minute and never touched a curb.

Oh and I left enough room for the guy in front of me to leave because common sense.

 

Both my kids and my wife came down with the same thing....all at home right now.

 

I saw on my weather app that Saturday the pollen level was high, so hoping it's all because of that.

I didn't know there was a flu test.
guess i'm old school, either I'm sick or I'm not. Dr. won't change the course of a cold or flu, so... Course now we wear a mask when we've got flu.

 

Yeah... they swab you just like they swab you for Covid. Or should I say that they swab you for Covid like they swabbed you for the flu. The flu swab has been around forever.

But yeah, now if/when you're sick, just wear a mask when you're out and about. That's what I told my kids when they made the mask thing in school optional. So you better believe that my oldest is wearing a mask to school tomorrow, just in case, because his voice is still scratchy.

 

and the mask would also help filter out the allergens for him. Well except the rain is knocking most of it to the floor anyway.

Just surprised I never ever heard of a flu swab/test.

 

And to treat the flu, even for kids, they give you Tamaflu.
