Anybody live or have any info on the New Haven area? It's a possibility I'll end up there as my next unit. Just trying to see what the suburbs are like, how far they are, is it a nice area?

Parts of new haven itself can be very rough. Then it depends on which direction you head out of new haven, whether it gets nice or whether it doesn't. In the city itself, to get something nicer or something convenient, you end up paying a premium because of Yale. How far or how long of a commute do you want? Where do you need to go?

I would be at the coast guard station in New haven. I'm up to like a 30 minute commute. Wanting to rent a smaller nice house in a nice quiet neighborhood for me and my wife

I have an 2011DCLB with front, rear and step up bars from Avid Offroad installed. I panited all of them myself with 2 coats of Krylon primer and 2 coats of Krylon Satin Black. They came out great and have looked good up untill this winter. Now I want to have them done with Line-X, they want 100 dollars a peice ($400 total)
But the they don't do any blasting or "prep" work. They said I need to have them bead blasted and if the blaster will primer them, have it done.

I have no problem taking them off and bring them to the bead guy but I am having a hard time finding one. I am open for suggestions and any other input.
    Thanks

I'm in New Haven proper, and work not far from the Coast Guard station. I really like my neighborhood, but its pretty much surrounded on all sides by ghetto. It works great for me and the wife. No kids, we carpool for the commute, and its close to the stuff we need. I'm not from CT and won't be here in a couple of more years, so we're fine with the area. If we were putting down roots, no way we'd live where we do.

Lots of nice areas around that are easy to commute from and most the people I work with drive at least 30 minutes or more. The CG station is right off the highway, so that's good and bad. You'll get right off a main highway if you commute. You will also get the 91/95 mixer traffic.

I lived in Dallas and traffic here is rarely as bad as what I used to get into daily up that way and in Houston. I guess its relational to whatever you're used to.

    Oh, and welcome. :)
