    Hey thanks for the info bud much appreciated ya I've tried welding without the auto-darkening helmet and with it and your right it definitely makes a HUGE difference. This is basically what I'm looking for it doesn't have to be a Hobart just something similar.

    That one has set output tap voltages. It's fair but not nearly as good as an infinite (think of a dimmer switch) adjustment which gives you the ability to make fine adjustments. Honestly, stop in at Tech Air and ask a lot of questions. They might even have a trade in model - you never know unless you ask. The other good thing about a local buy is that you can get them to discount the bottle of gas. They are good for 10 years and then have to be replaced. Tech air will just swap out the bottle when I refill without charging extra for a new bottle.

    I'm a cheap ass / want a good all the time, so I scoured craigslist for two months or so while I was learning about what I would need.

    I ended up getting a Lincoln 180 from a damaged box tool store for $250 out the door and normally retail for $630+

    I'd def. go for a 220v machine if you wanna build stuff for the truck. All my research pointed that way. There are some deals on the old Millers / Lincolns / Hobarts if you wait and have cash to make a move. I saw a Miller 250 for $700 on the Worcester MA craigslist the other day. I would have liked to get a big 200/250amp machine, but I couldn't walk away from the deal at $250.

    Ok so a lot of progress today I got the rear 95% done and the front is about 90 % done just a few little things to wrap up tomorrow but couldn't all in all couldn't be happier with how it looks.

    Thanks all for the compliments on thee bumpers I absolutely love em just gotta do a few little things today like hook up my lights again and a few other things. Got my skids from the mobtowb GB and there definitely beeef for sure, just waiting on my sliders now
