CEL was caused by “EG1403 R and R secondary air injection pump with cover, air switch”
Code was P2443 it looks like.

At the same time though I had my input seal between TCase and transmission done under warranty so I’m happy. Always good to drive in and out for free with repairs done!

 

News Years resolution. To actually get stuff done on my truck.

 

I ended up at about 1,000/year on the Tacoma the last couple of years. This year will be more. 2023 will be more more.
Prius did some bad juju today. I think the end has come. :-( I know it's something simple, but I'm done chasing it.

 

Interesting sunsets this time of year.

 

Need help looking at it? Have you scanned it for any codes? I did a little more digging and that light is a HV System Warning light.

Good day for a bicycle...or motorcycle ride.

 

Beautiful day outside. Killed me to have to go to work today. Got to spend yesterday outside working around the house at least so I got some use of the good weather.

 

driving to work Thursday on 84 it suddenly started over-revving. I put it into N & it kept on over-revving. I put it back into D, got off the highway. It could maintain speed, but had a real hard time adding speed (like accelerating from the stop light). Got to a driveway, pulled in, shut it down, waited a bit & restarted it. Ran mostly normal. But now I don't trust it to drive on the highway.
I'll have to ask my mechanic to pull the codes for me, I don't have a real scanner & I don't think his scanner has hybrid codes - he doesn't touch hybrids.
Right now, it's parked. I'm pretending it doesn't exist. :-\

 

The car will give turn off all lights sometimes, but rarely.
The Master Warning light is usually on.
The HV warning light is often on. usually on.
Sometimes I also get the check engine light, sometimes not.
Sometimes the traction control light, sometimes not.
Sometimes the tire low-pressure light - but that might just be on very cold days - not sure it's related to this. Just don't recall.
I've developed selective vision towards the warning lights in this car. :-(

 

Say, do we have electronics whisperers here that might be at the next truck tinkering day?

I got a "smart mirror" (electronic "rear view" mirror) for the RV. Only 21', but it needs the backup camera, there is zero rear visibility. I know better than to dig into vehicle wiring, hoping there might be someone interested in installing it. The old unit's camera & screen stopped talking to each other.

 

I could borrow the Techstream from work and use that.

 

Not a good way to start the day. I go to make a second cup and my coffee machine breaks.
