Co-worker is off this afternoon, to help his father out with stuff.

But on the other hand, I'm off tomorrow afternoon so that I can get my in-laws from the airport. Been in FL since Thanksgiving.

 

I was heavily into it in the 80s and 90s.
Friend had a place right on the club connecting trail in Vt.
We did lots of trail maintenance and grooming in our area.
Rode much of Vermont as well as Quebec.

 

@bucktales those were the heydays. The sleds now are amazing to ride but the conditions aren't consistent anymore. Even 20 years ago I was basically guaranteed 4 to 6 weeks of riding on the lake across the road from home. Now it doesn't freeze at all most years.

Latest I rode in Vermont was Memorial day weekend. No snow on the ground, but the trail still had plenty.
Had to rejet a few times due to the temps.
My first was way back and a TnT 340.
Light, nimble and after tweaking, able to pop the skis off the ground and perfect for breaking trail after heavy snow.
(Light weight = easy getting un-stuck as well)



On one of the Quebec trips, we found a sign in the middle of nowhere for a titty bar.
Oh hell, it was only 28km away.
Well worth the trip.
Sadly, I gave up the sport about 20 years ago. I'd like to ride again someday.

 

@bucktales my buddy's dad gave it up in the early 90's. His mind was blown when he got back into it a few years ago and hit the trails on a relatively new machine.

Waiting on wire clips and a headset stand from Amazon that should be here today. I realized I need to order one more USB extension cable for my mouse.

Found the cable I needed on Amazon (same one I ordered before). One cable for $4 or a three pack for $4. I ordered a three pack.

It’s gonna rain ……again

 

I guess us well dwellers no longer need to worry about a rain deficit. I heard the temperatures are going down big time later today.

 

Seems par for the course this winter. Rain followed by cold followed by my shitbox commuter being frozen shut. I had to climb in from the passenger side when we got that first storm followed by single digits.

 

@HAVOC headphone stand? It never occurred to me that those were a thing. Gonna have to get one for my son.

 

I’m not a “RGB” fan so I got a plain black one.

Hate when that happens! What kind of vehicle?

Years ago when I had a 1979 Saab one winter night shut the driver's side door & heard metal fall inside the door. A internal piece of the metal door handle broke off. And this was a car made in Sweden. I fixed it somehow by rigging up and soldering a piece of #14-2 electrical wire from the broken handle to what it needed to move.

 

2002 Park Ave. It wasn't that the latch was stuck but the lock was. Drove 45 minutes with the heat on high before I could unlock it.

 

Interesting. I also considered an older Buick as a commuter car, those 3.8 V6s were great engines, and they typically ride well. On the highway they can get gas mileage approaching vehicles that are much smaller.

I am pleased with the Tacomas gearing, tall for a 4 cylinder. A few hundred rpms less than Subarus that I've had on the highway - with an engine not much smaller, 2.5L.

 

A 2016 with 366,000 miles.

 

New cable clips arrived. I accidentally ordered the small ones so I had to order the larger clips. Should be here on Sunday.

 

I don't like how so many things need to be ordered online now. Not that cable clips are electronics, but I'm probably one of the few that misses Radio Shack. I found out that recently the one and only sort of local electronics store, Cables and Connectors - closed late last year. I also miss KMart.
