Happy hump day.

 

Wasn't able to do anything on my truck during lunch yesterday, had a shop meeting.
I should be getting the terminals for the rear view mirror today so hopefully I can cross that off the list before this weekend.

 

Finished wiring up my 12v outlet for the bed. Very nice to have an extra outlet for my fridge!
Camera wouldn't show the entire display due to refresh rates, but it works!

Modifying a grommet for my antenna cable.

 

Heading down to NC for a wedding. Is this good mpg? I came from a 50mpg tdi to the Tacoma so I'm trying to eek out everything i can.

 

@Offbeattacos - Yes, that is probably about as good as it gets. I think that the best mileage I ever got was about 26 mpg when I was driving from SE to upstate NY (about 250 miles)...all highway driving with no delays

Greetings! Nice view from the hotel window in Winchester VA. Off to see my cousin in Greensboro NC briefly and then final short leg to Concord NC for the wedding fun! So far the Tacoma is pretty comfortable for long stretches of driving. Normally we take our V6 rav4 but it needs some work before it's next road trip

Customer states that their car knocks and doesn’t when they put better gas in it.

Recommend 91 or better in the owners manual.

The only way I'd see that kind of gas mileage would be on the way down if I drove off a cliff

I don’t remember that. I do remember sitting in the back of my fathers station wagon waiting in line for gas.

 

260 was about 104 octane.
Amoco had a 102-103 I used to use.
They had 101 for a long time when others were dropping the octane numbers.
And leaded of course.
Thumper motors sounded better with the good shit.

 

Back in my supercharged Miata days...I may or may not have used this as an octane booster to run big amounts of timing advance without detonation...and had comments as to the smell of my exhaust
