Finally stopped procrastinating, and having my windshield replaced today by Safelite.

Made the appointment last week, for them to come out to my house since I'm working from home.

 

Not as exciting as Jason's new truck but my Cali Raised molle panel came...

 

Its a mod, and its cool....its definitely exciting

 

I've had them do a couple including the 911, no issues with them.

 

Got the call saying the tech is showing up between 11 and 12.

 

I find the $20 "this is for you" prior to him starting gets you exceptional service

I might have to do that because to be honest with you, I'm a bit "nervous" about this. Nervous because I have that mirror extender bracket thing on there, and my Ultragauge stuck to my windshield as well and I'm afraid something will get broken or messed up while they take the stuff off and change the windshield.

 

When I had the Porsche done they sent a guy with over 20 years experience, think they didn't want to fuck up an expensive piece of glass. I felt bad for him...he was a really big guy and watching him fold himself into that car was like trying to get something back in the box after you've opened it.

 

I gave the cable TV guy a $20 and he gave me his work cellphone#
Next time I had a problem I texted him instead of calling the 800 service number and he came that day in between other appointments. When your cable guy is late you can blame me.
He got another $20.

 

Generally don't like tipping before the job gets done although I've had to spend quite a few hours at Safelite with the Subaru. HADDDDDD to be done at the shop bc the "eyesight" etc needed to be recalibrated etc. Turns out the guys that did the windshield both times is an absolute boss and did the job in under 2 hours both times.

Safelite guy is finally on the way here, supposedly.

Had a "rough morning" according to what he said on the phone.

Not starting off well already. There goes the tip.

Hopefully it's all pretty straight forward and nothing gets messed up.
