Nebco is one of my favorites. Right by my old stomping grounds at Southern. And man, was I psyched when they started canning fuzzy last year.

Thats the recipe. The first time I made it, it cooked down pretty heavily- there wasnt a ton of broth by time it came to putting it in bowls and adding the bread and cheese. Only substitute I made the first time was using gruyere vs the cheese they call for.

Last night, to counter the cooking down, I increased all ingredients x 1.5 but keeping the same amount of onion. Also added a bunch more cheese, and went with swiss and gruyere. Very happy with the results.

 

That sounds awesome, might give it a go this Sunday, would be a nice compliment to the snow if it actually happens

Really hoping we get hit with a significant storm. I am dying to get my son on a snowboard for the first time and sundown is just down the road from us. I dont want his first go to be on ice.

 

And I'm hoping we get a good storm so I can get my kiddo outside just to play in it for the first time, she was too young last year

 

If we don't make it to sundown and it snows, I will definitely be out in our yard with both my son (4 in feb) and daughter (2 next week). Shes too young for skis (in my opinion) but would have a blast playing around in the snow.

Hey everyone! Happy New Year!

I'm in need of a new tailgate and was have been calling salvage yards to find a new one. They have A grade replacements but nothing in the blazing blue pearl.

Anyone know a rough cost to paint a tailgate and/or a good paint shop in CT?

I'm in Shelton, so the New Haven and BPT area are preferred but not necessary.

My snow blower is ready to go.

Put it in the garage a few weeks ago, when I put all of my outdoor furniture in the shed.

And if it doesn't, then that's what the kids are for, or can do.

 

Mines been ready.
Even picked up spare belts this Fall.

I forgot to mention something else I did that isn't in the recipe. For the french bread, after I cut it, I bake the cut pieces for 10 minutes at 400. Toss them on a cookie sheet and flip them halfway through. I found it helps it from getting soggy while broiling with the cheese in the last step.

 

Little to no confidence in the storm path until later in the week (i.e., Friday)

 

Have tickets to see the Pats again this Sunday so I’m okay with some snow but mild temps would be best. The negative temp games below freezing are brutal.
