Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

i need better shoveling gloves. Only lasted 45 minutes chopping ice tonight before my finger was too frozen to continue.

The hill part of my driveway is a sheet of slick ice. I chopped on the flat, on the hill I was having a fight with gravity who really was having fun sliding me down the ice.
I have to say, the Ridgeline I picked up, I don't know if it's the technology (No flashy lights happening) or the snow tires or both, but this truck just drives up the ice like it's not there. There's just no motivation to chop that ice, may as well wait for the rains to come.
Well, too much Yankee in me. Can't resist hard phyical work in frigid weather. (What's wrong with us?) LOL

But anyone have suggestions for gloves that'll keep my digits warm, but not to bulky for snow management?

Mine croaked at around 10 yrs on MLK day a while back. Hood was also frozen shut so I had to use the hairdryer just to get to it. The pack boosted it but as soon as I shut it off it would die again..fortunately my folks were home so I borrowed the garage.

It is just all about working the hours where less are on the road . Here for my Wallingford to Middletown drive I do 6-230 and the gym on campus before working hours so I see about 6 cars on my way in. Back when I was living in Seattle and commuting to Everett I was working 5-130 just to avoid all the mess of traffic the best I could. I sure as heck do not miss that commute.

 

Kiddo won his turf game yesterday.

Lost the futsal game today.

Happy Monday everyone. Supposed to be above freezing today so its basically a heatwave.

Flew from Logan to Chicago Saturday morning with a friend to pick up his new to him truck. Drove straight thru, 1000 miles in 17.5 hours. Can vouch for comfort of 2nd gen seats if you're 5'9". Lots of bad convenience store coffee, lots of good conversation and laughs.

Forget to mention I watched the Moto Guzzi short film. It was fabulous

 

After doing everything I could for 10 days to make sure that none of us got Covid from the Mrs, now somehow I think I got a cold.

It's either that or a sinus infection because I've tested myself 2 days in a row and it's been negative.

Definitely.

Been feeling like shit the past three days, and sleeping like shit too.

tested myself every day and it's negative, so... looks like it's no Covid at least.

 

Looks like you are in the clear, lets hope it stays that way.

 

Fingers crossed. Bit scared to be honest. Feel like shit because of the congestion, etc...

 

Get yourself some zinc, vitamin d, oregano oil, and some echinacea/elderberry. Stay very hydrated and you'll be on the mend asap. I am not a doctor, its just what has helped me in the past.
