Been using my brother’s hardtail mountain bike while he is at school. Just got word he landed an internship down in Charlestown this summer and is taking his bike.

Might start searching for one of my own. Trying not to break the bank so leaning on a hardtail. Conflicted though, want an enduro so I can do local trails as well as having something for downhill (riding downhill at Big Sky is what got me hooked).

Took my son to Nepaug state forest last weekend. Little guy rages the fire road on his balance bike. Hes been watching mountain bike vids on YouTube and is hooked too. Taught him to use his brakes last weekend, and am working on getting him up to speed with peddling.

I don't know why I'm up so damn early, so

My terminals got delivered yesterday afternoon. Which means I can mess with my battery cable ends.

The 8 gauge wire I picked up from O'Reilly's might have been 10 gauge. It worked (negative terminal to fender) and it's the same size that I removed from the truck.
Now I need to know what size the positive cable is. I think it's 2 gauge but I'm not sure. I think I need to read the "big three" thread.

Morning morning. My decked system was delivered yesterday, albeit later in the day than expected. Will have to put that in this weekend.

My solar panel also came in. 200w monocrystalline rigid panel from Renogy. 10awg wire being delivered today. Waiting on hardware so I can mount the panel to the roof rack. Will be putting in a breaker between the panel and the dc-dc charge controller.

Noticed how well your truck runs after the winter blends get changed out to the spring, summer blends.

The Citgo that I usually fill up at on the Berlin Tpke must have started to get the Spring/Summer blend this week.

I filled up at the same station last week and the truck didn't run as well as it did after today's fill up.

Nothing like being told by a sales person via the phone that your email response to a question comes across as condescending. A response which pointed out that the info was there, and was given the info anyway.

And nothing like being accused by that same person (who mind you already tried to start shit with me over the summer and was told by management to take it down a notch because she was in the wrong) that your communication with her isn't good, and that you don't help.

Maybe the problem is because that sales person and her customer service rep don't know what or how to do their job, and are constantly asking questions which the information is already there in plain sight for all to see.

If this thing that I've been working on with my Taekwondo school doesn't happen ASAP, I'm giving up on it and pursuing something else ASAP. Can't take the attitude anymore.

I actually paid attention - big truck seemed slow cranking. Saw a whiff of smoke from front right wheel on the big truck but no smell, later at a light took my foot off the brake & the truck didn't creep forward. Actually paid attention for once, dropped it at the shop. Sure enough battery failed it's exam, front left(!) caliper sticking, both rotors in front warped (I was ignoring that). $900 later all better. :-( With lifts going for $2k the payback would be pretty fast. Garage floor is too thin to support one, but maybe footings are inexpensive.

 

in other news, still moving earth for the fun of it - some by shovel, some by skid steer. Playing in the mud, back to the joys of childhood. :-D
