If they were born here, then they're US citizens. Regardless if the parents are here legally or not actually. Which is crazy.

Does that apply to all countries? I was told I can easily get Ireland citizenship because my grandfather was born there.

 

I think applying for citizenship to other countries is a bit easier than US Citizenship. The only "problem" is that you'd probably have to dig up some paperwork to show your heritage, or in this case your grandfather's heritage, and then you'd be OK. You wouldn't have to live there for any amount of time like you have to here. And you'd probably have to go to an Irish embassy to do it.

I read it, and I get why it was done back then. Back then, because of what happened, made sense.

But nowadays people take advantage of that with illegal emigration. That's why I think it's crazy. But that's just me because my parents did everything the correct way to come here and be here legally, and we kept doing what we needed to do to stay here legally. I know a lot of people that aren't here legally. But who am I to judge them... I know life is tough and not everyone has or had the same luck my parents did to be able to do things the correct way.

 

Hey Nutmeggers. A question. i'm in CT. The Tacoma seller of course wants cash only, as this is a Craigslist thing. That's understandable. When you do a title transfer, in CT, can you just write "AS IS- NO WARRANTIES on the title , and I just add my name, correct? Then get insurance, and then go register) I sent him DMV's page (see link) on selling a vehicle and it leans toward using their "Bill of Sale " form. He sqwauked about that, and said he's not a dealer , and he doesn't want to get sued if something goes wrong down the road . I did verify the title is in his name. and it's also clean. I haven't done plate/reg transfers in a while , the clunkers I sold off in my youth were just done with that AS-IS on the title thing. But I just want to make sure this is DMV legit . If you don't have a bill of sale you're asking for difficulty at DMV. You can write up your own, you don't need to use the DMV form. You/him can write as is on the bill of sale. If he balks...there's other trucks out there.

 

Isn't their a bill of sale form on the back side if the registration? Maybe not. I can't remember but I think there is.

 

MA, but I just wrote a simple one of my own including the VIN#. Made 2 copies and made the buyer sign both as I did, then handed him one of the copies.
