    Good evening CT. Got the correct seals today. Going to do my inner axle boots tomorrow. I think I may even lube my upper control arms.

    Weather looks good today, far cry from the tropical storm hitting through the day like it had originally been forecast to

    I bring the truck to work. Put it up in the air and see that the outer boot is ripped on the driver's side.
    No biggie. I'll just do the passenger side inner boot. Can't get anything apart. I go to put the axle nut back on and the threads get all messed up.

    I figure I'm here, might as well lube the upper control arms. One of the bushings on the passenger side is bad.

    I need to order bushings for the upper control arms and left and right axles. Looking at these axles: https://www.extremeterrain.com/taco...Of7uFkHlqzlEUCdS5dUaArOxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

    My rear brakes were at my door when I got home. I'm not touching the truck at all this week. I might mess something else up. :annoyed:

    The only reason I'm changing mine is because of my L/R axle seal leak. Brake shoes have gear oil on them.

    Both your axles leaking? That’s why I had to do the rear brakes in my last truck at 206k.
    Buying pre pressed or going oem? I did dorman pre pressed and it was pretty easy.

    Just the L/R. I bought parts to do both sides.

    Pre pressed. To replace the axle seal you just remove the 4 bolts and pull the axle. I'm not changing the bearings.

    Nice. On mine it was the same. Think I had to get a wheel cylinder too? Not a bad job at all.
    Is that happening at Jared’s? I could be early for that.

    I believe so. I have wheel cylinders, axle seals, new drums and shoes. Let's hope I don't run into problems like I did today.

    Doing new brakes is way easier with no axle in the way. I should change my diff fluid while I'm there.

    For sure! Makes less mess pulling the axle too.

    I’m bringing a bucket and spill proof lid for @CTSpruceMica to take with him just for that.

    @Roody

    I just read David Tracy's story on Autopian about him going to Duke of Richmond Ball at Goodwood Festival of Speed. It's a must read...some of his finest work EVER...pure hilarity. Give the man his Pulitzer Prize.
