Morning all. Happy Tuesday. Day off today. Really need to clean the truck.

The previously mentioned mini golf place (which ive been to and thought was fun as a kid)

That's wild. Wow.

 

It's going to take a very long time to restore the road damage. Routes 67,34 and 6 are major state roads and the washouts are numerous.
In the pic, there is no rte 67.
My Sis and BIL were over yesterday and had to take about 5 detours to get here.
One of my ex-co workers lived along the river bout half mile below the mini golf place. Think most of those places are gone or badly damaged.
Freakin mess.

 

Oh yeah, we are looking at months of repair/new construction. 34 down by me is an absolute disaster as well. Everything from the stevenson damn to the intersection of 34/188 is fcked. They were also doing massive construction to 67 the closer you got to the center of Seymour by the police station and stop and shop. I am almost positive thats a wrap there too.

 

Drove past that place every day on my way to work for years

 

Took a ride today to check out some of the damage.
First pic is near a walking trail in the woods.
Massive log jams and the small river came up about 10 feet according to all the debris in the woods.
The rest are on and around Route 67.
Seeing the damage firsthand is an eye opener. They were still yanking cars out in the woods hung up in trees.

I left my truck outside this morning since I had to come in to the office, so I wouldn't make a shitload of noise opening and closing the garage while everyone was still asleep.

Temp on the mirror read 51. Yeah, it was cool last night.

I need to do that too. Been super busy trying to help my son get his Eagle Scout project wrapped up and his car to pass emissions so he can drive it to college next week instead of my Accord. Looking forward to being done with both things soon.

 

I had a 9:50 AM appointment at the Old Saybrook DMV, to renew my license. I checked it at 9:40 AM. They called me to the counter at 11:45 AM !!!!!!
So much for having an appointment.

 

Might be the worst DMV in the state.

Found out why the cops were here. Girlfriend called the cops because she wanted her boyfriend to leave. That's the quick and dirty explanation.
