I did a bad thing today. Been watching caps locally for @Cativelense,. The elusive sub $300 2nd gen cap.

Haven't come up with a free bed liner, so $10 while I was there isn't bad.

 

Took the Tacoma to visit a friend in the hospital in Bridgeport Ct. He backed his lawn tractor into a place where he shouldn't have got pinned between the tractor and the house. He got lucky couple of broken ribs and a cracked sternum, The Dr. also found fluid around his heart but no blood. Like I said he got lucky. According to his wife he is/was supposed to go home today. Again he was lucky.

The cap isn't faded it has a velvet look in the photo. I like it and on the color charts those two colors compliment each other

Thanks. It was a grab & go situation & light fading when I got home & started rinsing off the muck. Looking at my pictures, I think I agree with you, the colors do compliment.

 

Could totally tape and spray that beast. Good as new!

Found some 2015 wheels with lug nuts and plastic caps for $410 on EBay. I’ve been thinking about getting my stock 09 wheels refinished but this was too good to pass up. They were listed as 50k miles no road damage on wheels.

Gonna swap to the 2015 wheels and scrap my old ones. Maybe I can sell them back to that place “plan B tires and wheels” in Danbury I hear they buy stuff back. I might just offer them the wheels if they make the tire swap for me for free.

Ant any rate I’m excited I won’t have scuffed up oxidized paint flaking wheels that look like hammered dog shit anymore!

Good find. I was getting gas this morning and a guy was asking me about my plastdipped wheels. He bought new ones too because of the delaminating issue. I'll probably upgrade when I get new tires.

 

Yea I was thinking about going the plastidip route. Because 2 of my wheels have no paint left and are just nasty. But I think they are bad enough they really should be blasted and repainted. Hopefully by 2015 they figured out the paint problem?

 

The Wheel Shop in WindsorLocks does great work...

 

Have you used them on your taco wheels? What did they cost? I looked at a shop in Danbury that wanted $150 a wheel to make the stock wheels brand new again. But I thought that was too much for me.
