I'm trying to remember your description of the symptoms your having. what were they?

This is the tool I am looking to buy, rent or borrow. It removes the needle bearing from the front diff so you can install the ECGS bushing instead. I have a bad bearing noise with some vibration that can be felt through the truck and a random steering wheel shake. The vibration and noise go away in 4WD and I have already done both wheel bearings. I am also going to change out front and rear shocks when I do this repair so if anyone has some lightly used stock TRD front or rears they want to part with for a fair price I am looking to buy.

 

I think there is a "swap thread" for this somewhere on here from a member in MA. I'll keep an eye out for it and if I come acrross it, I'll post the link on here for you so you can check it out and see how it works and what's going on with it.

 

If you want new 5100's I saw them for some deal price at suspension warehouse. There was a bundle deal 4 for 300 I think. If you Google yee shall find.

No rivet gun, but I'm sure you can post on the thread and ask if you're trying to find out about installation. I've read a few posts of people on there saying they have one already, so don't think it'll hurt to ask!

Wanted to respond to you here instead of the thread for that in case it gets lost. Not sure if you saw, but I got us an answer on the rivet gun question. It's needed and Harbor Freight sells them cheap if you have one near you, or you can pick one up cheap from Amazon.

You're welcome. We're all here to help each other, at least in my opinion. I had no idea they were that cheap either, and luckily have a Harbor Freight right down the road from my house, so I'll be stopping by to pick one up ASAP.

I'm all the way down in the Danbury area. And to be honest with you I doubt you'd want my help anyway. Not very good at this sort of thing. Going to give it a crack on my own but if I think it won't come out right, then I'm going to ask my buddy who has a Tundra to help me out since he's the "handy" type in the group.

 

Ha that's quite the distance away. I'm just iffy about the drilling part. I guess measure 15 times, drill 1 time right?

 

That's my fear exactly. Plus being the way I am (if you're gonna do something has to be done right or don't do it at all mentality), if I do it and it doesn't come out perfect, I'll be kicking myself in the ass for as long as I own the truck.
