    Anyone have good luck with aftermarket brakes( pads and rotors)? My truck is almost 100k miles on original brakes...with that performance I'm tempted to stay OEM.

    I am a brake abuser for sure. I had a set of stock pads & rotors that never bed in correctly that had no stopping power burned them up in about 35k. Then I got the EBC stage 5 kit. Dimpled and slotted rotors with yellow stuff pads. Stopping power was unbelievable, that setup would lock up the fronts on dry pavement if you wailed on it. But they were super dusty and I smoked through pads in 17k! Whoops. Currently running the no-name Levine’s generic pads and rotors but they are the “heavy duty/extreme service” ones they had. I am pleased with stopping power but service life is yet to be seen.

    Next time I will probably try another set of EBC. Maybe the orange stuff pads.

    On the topic of brakes, does anyone have the special tool needed to change the front pads? Is anyone familiar with how to replace the pads on a 2nd gen?     I've used Raybestos on other vehicles and liked them. On my wife's car, we're currently running Hawks with drilled/slotted on all 4 corners (Turbo Forester). Stopping power is incredible but I don't believe they will last as long as the Raybestos that were on it before.
