Yeah, I love the color and the versatility. I will be camping in it all next week so I've been prepping for that.

Cheers CT. I saw a question earlier about winter tires...I swap out steelies with snows during the winter months and fluid film the truck 2x per year. The liquid salt the states use these days is way too corrosive not to. See you around. Marks cruise night in east granby on Mondays is a great show. Hey so what exactly is fluid film? Is that like that really really thin clear plastic spray on stuff that can be peeled off I see it used mostly on the front bumper to prevent road rash

 

I really love it I did the installation myself with the exception of compressing the coil springs to get them on the struts. I had a little bit of a nightmare with that I had brought it to a local shop to assemble the coil springs on the struts and the "MECHANIC" installed them with the spring seat on upside down and I didn't catch it myself till I posted a pick of it on here and luckily the good people of TW realized this and of course it was all done before it was noted. I had almost like 5 inches of lift in the front and the coil springs rubbed on the uca and it road like absolute shit. Now this all could have been avoided by spending an extra 100 bucks when I bought it because Toytec offers to assemble them for a 100 bucks but oh well it was for sure a learning experience. So I had to take the whole front end apart to flip the seat around to the correct position so I did that and got it all put back together and now it sits beautiful and rides 10X better now so all in all its an excellent lift for the money and I would recommend it to anyone in the market.

 

Fluid film is basically an oil type spray that prevents corrosion. There's a few different types of corrosion resistant coatings that can be used. I've used Amsoil HD metal protector on mine but anything is better than nothing. FWIW, NAPA has fluid film in the store downtown.

 

Fluid flim is the product name. It's supposed to be a non toxic wax based fluid. With a cheap sprayer you can use your compressor to cover the undercarriage. I would suggest buying a gallon and the spray kit vs the aerosol cans...cheaper in the long run

Do we know of anywhere that will spray it on our trucks for a decent price? I think you really only need to do it during the fall time going into winter.

 

I don't know any places that spray it professionally. I would do it for $45, time and materials all included. I hit everything, engine bay, under carriage, inside tailgate, etc.

Agreed. I'm on board for this for sure. Even if it means taking a day off from work during the week if it works best for those interested. I'll gladly pay you the $45 plus a case of your drink of choice, whatever it may be. Cool way to meet fellow CT Taco owners.

I'd be down for a meet even though I don't have my truck yet. I'd want the fluid film done when my truck comes but who knows when that will be...

 

I see on your vehicle list you ordered a 2016. Have they given you any idea of when it'll be in?
