Do you have room for one more? I just saw this thread and that you were planning a ride for this Friday. I have not done the diff breather mod to my truck yet, is your ride going to include deep enough water for me to be concerned? Let me know.

No worries on the water...it's an easy ride, just dirt roads.
All the puddles will be frozen anyway.
It sounds like it will be between 10-11am meet up at my place.
    PM me for address.

I can't make the run Friday - working both jobs.
Kinda circles all around. I had 1 real job cared too much, worked like it was my name on the building. Got me nothing more than some nice words on an annual review, an extra couple hundred $ a year pay, & all the customers would seek me out which just increased my work load - although I always enjoyed putting customers first. Worked myself to the point my soul was exhausted. Finally had to just walk away from it all.

Now, I work 3 part time jobs. I can't 'not care', but it's finally clear in my head that I am only & simply a replaceable employee, (& each job is replaceable). I make sure the companies get good value for my time that I sell to them, but if they want more of my time - they must pay for it. The biggest learn though - was to say no. NO. not all of my time is for sale. They really want me to come in 2 hours earlier each day (an additional 2 hours/day), but I won't. Time is like money in the bank, you only have so much. Don't let people take it from you without any benefit to yourself, and don't sell the hours you want for yourself. Never forget to be a human of value first, Be an employee after that.

I'd love to come Friday, but to do so would mean screwing co-workers on one of our busiest days. Have a blast on the drive folks.

    and - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I'm not sure if anyone here is aware of this site or not, but there is a great little web site for locating gravel roads; https://gravelmap.com

I have found some very nice roads here in western CT. that I never knew existed! I've even found a couple that are what I would consider a moderate trail! The one I went over yesterday got to the point that I turned around and went back because the road was flooded with 12-18" of water and I was alone and didn't want to get stuck by myself. I use this map in conjunction with the Rever app so I can plan out my rides. Rever https://a.rever.co is a cool web site/app that easily allows you to plan rides then download the map to you phone and use the phone for guidance.

Check them out and let me know what you think.

Hey - those are some great tools there. Never heard of either.
Gravel map - I had no clue there were so many dirt roads near me. Going to have to reinstall the mud (stone) flaps.
The rever app really doesn't want to tell you what it is, so a link with details: https://rever.co/how-it-works/

    thanks for the info!

Happy Thanksgiving (and work-free Thursday), everyone!

About to head out to the fiance's parents' place for dinner, aka booze/football/overeating. Nice and chilly out...taking the train to avoid traffic. Stay safe out there today, folks! Lots of questionable drivers after dinner.

Im a little late but i hope everyone had a great turkey day.
For those that had to work, been there ,done that.
Worked at SNET/ ATT. Worked many holidays as the kids were with thier mother,so i worked so those who had kids and wifes and family could enjoy the day.
The $$$ was great 2 1/2 times the standard rate so the incentive was there.
So enjoy the rest of the day.

2 hours minimum I'm guessing, depends on routes stops and how much we want to play around.
