Cleaned the garage a little today. Not much time, had lacrosse tournament yesterday and lax today with my daughter. Made carnitas for dinner and ordered the AJT climate knobs. Black fridY sale still on, and I hate the stock ones. Yay me. Lol.

 

I thought about grabbing the replacement radio nobs but I am not sure I want these big bulky things.

 

I just can’t stand the climate ones, how they are recessed. If I like them I’ll order another for the 4x4, the lighted write up looks like it might be a pain. Lol.

Yep I'm back too 55 hours...
At least we have jobs.

 

Working on the lighted 4x4 switch currently. Have everything, just need to swap out the bulbs...

From what I read, the ajt knob on the 4x4 selector sticks out a bit. I thought I read it on his website. Just an FYI.

 

What did you oay for all the swap components?

 

I believe the hilux switch was about 90. (Switch was 70 but shipping from Thailand was 20). The machined ring you need for it was about 20. Led’s were about 5. Terminal connectors from Toyota were about 15 for both. Then just some misc stuf (wire, connectors, solder, desoldering braid, etc). The alternative to the hilux swtich is a 4 runner switch, and I’m pretty sure those don’t require the fitment ring, and the lights in those are not soldered (to my knowledge) so it would be easier to match lighting to factory Tacoma lights.

I’ll try and put together a thorough post on this when I finally get to soldering.

Not the kind of job security I like though... getting "crap" from people over shit I know nothing about, and don't know much about since it's not the area I cover, so I don't know too much about what my co-worker covers since it's his stuff. Getting really old really fast... Gotta make something happen ASAP.

And thanks for the compliment. Got it done with my cousin. I went first and then him. We sat around for each other's. Some places hurt more than others, but for the most part it wasn't bad at all.

 

Very true but short term it's a paycheck though. Mine is getting on my nerves as well, different reasons but still a pain. Either leave me alone and let me do my job, or give me the promotion I've proven myself worthy of.

How long that take?

 

Yeah... sucks. To me, what annoys me the most about mine is this: we're a two person team, so if one is out the other HAS to be here. We have to run taking time off by each other first before asking the supervisor. Luckily for our supervisor it has never happened that both of us we're out for any reason at the same time. Curious to see what would happen here if that ever happened. Also, shouldn't my supervisor know how to do our job so she can cover when one of us is out, so we're not left out to dry and get "killed" during the day? I would think so, but that's just me...

That's what annoys me the most... I feel like we're left out to dry, one person doing the job of two. And it's not easy. I get buried in emails all day long.

 

As I've always felt..management should be able to do if it comes to it especially in a small area. At least be able to backup.

 

My thought exactly. I get my supervisor as her own job to do, which I'm sure is not easy, but I always thought that part of their role was to "help" in case it's needed, which I think in our case it is since we're just a team of two.

But guess not... and to be perfectly honest with you, I don't think she'd know what to do. She should I would think, but don't think she knows.

Oh well... I'll get off my soap box, for now. Hopefully I'll come across something soon, so I can be the one to make the change. So far no luck... and been looking for a while. Everything that I find would be back to what I was doing here before I moved to this department, which I definitely don't want to do again. So I guess for now I need to shut up and suck it up.
