Well maybe the supe can deal with the flak when you don't have time to do it all yourself..haha, yeah like that might happen.

I recently got turned down for a promotion which would have been mostly a point person/training coworkers. Like I already do without getting paid to. Yeah..still no clue who got it but I would wager the N word happened..Nepotism.

Maybe if you do find something like the former role but with a better overall situation and more support it would be better long term..

 

True that... never looked at it that way, similar role but with better support and overall situation.

We'll see... we'll see... Keeping my eyes open and looking, that's for sure.

Sucks about your situation as well. That's F'ed up.

 

Plus if it provided opportunity for more growth..maybe worth it if there's a bigger prize there.

And yeah, but sadly it's just SOP. With my service time I'd be giving up a lot to go elsewhere, some of which I simply cannot get there like a pension.

 

That's the killer part; starting over elsewhere and losing out on pay and vacation time. That's (the vacation time) something that would kill me as well if I went somewhere else.

 

Definitely interested in a write up when you do it.

 

Also, what years of the 4runner work? Basically just a plug and play?

 

Yup, I have 5 weeks paid. Plus a pension I don't pay into on top of the 401K. My insurance is also excellent, really matters as I get older.

 

Yeah... I hit 4 vacation weeks this year. Super nice perk to have. Not really "excited" about starting over with less, but it is what it is.

 

Tough to live without, for sure. Depends if another part of the compensation makes up for it of course.

 

Definitely. Higher pay and less vacation can be doable for sure.

 

I can't really go anywhere and get a pension nowadays. Almost 20 years service where I am now.

 

Yeah... not too many places, if any, do that anymore.

 

Union places usually are it. I think off my head I can retire at 30 years.

 

My buddy at UPS has a union... can't remember if he gets a pension or not... I think he does though.

You don't necessarily have to. vacation time is negotiable. In May, I took a new job and negotiated 4 weeks. Sign on bonus too that wasn't in the original offer.

Just have to be: 1. willing to walk away. and; 2. not afraid to ask.
