Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

I wish it was that easy man... I really do. I take shit personal because I like to think that I am doing a halfway decent job, take pride in trying my hardest to do it right, and definitely put in way more time and hours than I get paid for. I know I don't need/have to do that, but I do so I can keep up with the shit show that it is, and be on top of things. Especially when my coworker is out/off. Then it's a "must" in order to keep up and not fall behind for the next day.

Shit, I'm on my work laptop doing work right now, to catch up and get ahead for tomorrow, and it's 11pm.

But at some point you have to say enough is enough, and move on to something else. Can't keep doing the same shit over and over, get "back stabbed", get shit left and right for things that are way out of your control, get "blamed" for making a mistake and overlooking something by mistake because you're only human, etc. People expect way too damn much at this place. It's not right, and it sure as hell isn't fair in my opinion. Especially when you get bypassed all the time for not telling people what they want to hear, for doing your job and "pushing back" on people to make sure they do it right, and for being "questioned" and people not believing what you are telling them and go "crying" to your supervisor for "help". I mean FUCK, for that I might as well not even be there and just let my supervisor do my job if she feels like it. FUCK!

This job is really on the verge of causing me to have a breakdown, no joke. Especially during these last few weeks. I feel like coming home and having a crying session most days. And, because I can't just leave work at work, I bring that "feeling" home and feel like I am taking it out on my wife, and sometimes even the kids by not being playful with them and just wanting to mope around.

I haven't watched news in YEARS. Nothing but bad and sad shit anyway. Who needs that??!!

 

Yep I think if it's that bad you need a change.

 

It helps me to that I stopped caring what others think a long time ago. I do what I do and I know I put the effort in if others don't see it that's their problem.

Good luck Nuno. I've been in that situation and it's hard to stop caring when it's been ingrained in you to always do your best. Believe me, I'm certain we grew up in the same type of household. However for your mental health, you have to figure out how to do what you can and say the hell with the rest. For me, I got a box and cleared out my desk/office of all unnecessary personal stuff. Let people watch me, too. They asked what I was doing. "I'm not sure if I'm coming back" would be my answer.

 

I can't say I haven't thought about doing this before as well. I really have. It's happened a lot lately.

I dunno... maybe it's just me over thinking and over analyzing this. Maybe it's just me who thinks or feels that I am constantly being treated the way I am. Maybe it's just the nature of the beast because of the type of company we are. Maybe I'm just a cry baby. Maybe...

 

Theres always the next job and unless you stop caring about you and your family, you will always get by. Try to have as much fun as possible along the way, and keep a positive outlook on things.

I wish. My coworker is still off so I "have to be there". Or else the place will fall apart since I'm sure as hell my supervisor doesn't know how to do our job (even though I keep saying that as part of being the supervisor she should know).

@Cativelense , let me help you take your mind off work for a sec. I think I remember reading you got the lifetime alignment package from firestone, and that you upgraded to the trd pro suspension. First question: how do you like the firestone lifetime package in general? Second question: did they give you any grief on the suspension change? I’m considering it, but don’t want to pay all that money and then lift the truck, and have them tell me they can’t align it due to the different suspension geometry.

Yup, got the lifetime alignment from Firestone a while back. So far so good. Maybe it's because of the shop I go to, or maybe not, but haven't had any complaints yet. They didn't say anything after I lifted it and went back for the alignment right after. All they said was something along the lines of, looks like you did some work on your truck. But nothing more than that, and definitely nothing along the lines of them not being able to or not wanting to do it.

So far I'd say it's been worth it. Good investment, especially since we live in the northeast and there's a shit load of potholes, etc, on the roads because of the rough winters.

I have the Firestone lifetime alignment too. I'm also lifted on 33's. Never a problem from Firestone regarding getting alignment done.

 

I tried to have mine aligned at the Firestone in Waterbury and was told they couldn't do it due to the lift. Their rack didn't have enough lift height to raise the front wheels.

 

DISLIKE.

WTF?!?!

 

True story... I told them 'come on', really? and they brought me out to the truck to show me the rack wouldn't lift the front wheels high enough.

 

WOW. That's kinda crazy...
